GR86 GR86 Space saver?

For anybody who already has their car (replying to this post to avoid starting a new thread), can you tell me where the socket is likely to be for the locking wheel nuts?

It's not in the grey plastic box with the four removed standard wheel nuts and no sign in the boot. I did get a complete set of new locking wheel nuts with the socket which were in the car but it's not the same as the locks that are currently fitted.

I'll ask at the dealer on Tuesday if there is no other logical place for the wheel nut socket to be
Mine was in the grey plastic box. Hope you find it!

Does anyone know the part number for the gt86 emergency jack? I already have a spare wheel and fits in the well fine - just missing the jack but haven't been able to locate the right one that'll fit into the cutout so far

I bought a used Subaru jack. It needs to be what I would call "low-profile". Otherwise it lifts the boot floor when stored in the cutout.

Here are the GR86 part links from Toyota direct parts. Don’t forget jack handle. Both cost me £60.93 delivered but on back order till 18/11

Interesting to hear people's thoughts on locking wheel nuts. Are premium brands such as McGuard better quality?

Only issues I've had is car garages over torquing them and making it tougher to loosen. Maybe removing locking wheel nut yourself and replacing with a standard nut before garage trips would prevent this problem.

This is quite a frequent occurrence with ‘Spare Wheel King’. I wouldn’t be surprised if your email goes unanswered. Here’s hoping that they actually do something for you with regards to a replacement…🤞🏻
Yep total radio silence from them, They have ignored 2 emails, I've called everyday this week so far, it rings and goes to voicemail, left a message and my number no reply.
Will give them until Friday then I'll refer it to my credit card company.
So avoid Spare Wheel King, bad customer service.

You could be the first to review them on Trustpilot (UK) and give them an astoundingly crap score, just for the inconvenience :poop:

I was thinking of ordering from them, thanks for the feedback.

There is a similar looking company called spare wheel city, I think. Website looks near identical.

hhmm... I was looking at getting one from sparewheelcity but looked at some of the reviews and they were mixed with the bad ones along the lines of not communicating over missing orders IIRC.

I think you’ll find they are ‘related’ companies. One is run by Lucas Powell, the other by Wayne Powell. Neither company is listed at Companies House so they will be operating as a Sole Trader. This info is in their own T&Cs page. I know that spare wheel city will always recommend spare wheel king and vice-versa. If you check the Business address, one is a residential house and the other a unit housing PO Boxes. No bricks and mortar trading premises. Both businesses have Zero Trustpilot reviews, both are dodgy as f**k. 🥸

I finally ordered a space saver with tool kit from here:

Reviews seem not bad and company looks legit. Oh they have a Black Friday 10% discount on offer too.

Spent way too much time scrolling eBay for Subaru space savers 😂.

Otherwise, the roadhero kit was my next option. More expensive, but better wheel and accessories. 5% discount with carnoiseur, or if you add to watchlist on eBay.

At least you'll get something akin to what you ordered AND that seller has a proper bricks & mortar premises - unlike Wheel King or Spare Wheel City who are just robbers... I've got the Road Hero Kit (currently sitting in the garage awaiting me to fit it in the boot).

Wheel and kit arrived today (Tue), ordered Sunday night. Quality looks good, advert says may be used, but looks brand new to me, maybe refurbished. Tyre is brand new and has 2023 code. Tool kit all new too.

Not tried on car yet. Tried to do some rough measurements and all seems fine.
