My order from T-W-S arrived today, unused wheel with a new BFGoodrich tyre. Can’t confirm either way re. fitment but happy to update after the weekend when I have done a trial fit.
Can however confirm that the jack that they supply does not fit in the profiled polystyrene section under the floor. Oh and the ratchet style jacking handle looks to be of questionable quality. Will probably try to source the proper Toyota items to replace these.
Alistair - can you also report on how the 17ins spacesaver fits in the boot? I see TWS also offers an 18ins spare, but I guess this is too big for the well.Looking forward to your report Alistair31. Presumably a 17" going on with 3 existing 18"s.
Finally got my punctured tyre fixed this week. The sealant washed out easily (mostly still liquified) and as the puncture was in the middle of the tread, the garage mended it without problem. However, as it was being rebalanced, it was evident that it would need to be trued, not much out but will be another trip to get right again. No idea how that happened.Alistair - can you also report on how the 17ins spacesaver fits in the boot? I see TWS also offers an 18ins spare, but I guess this is too big for the well.
Ha! Just finally thought of a use for the back seat. Could sling a bigger wheel in the boot and then when luggage space is needed, strap it into on of the 'seats'Mmm....
Please can you share a link? I've found a UK seller but always good to go off a recommendation.Applying protective film to the headlights is a fairly simple DIY job as the headlights are reasonably flat, takes about 20 mins, you can buy the film ready cut from the Bay of e for £20, just need a microfibre cloth, a squeegee, a spray bottle and some slip solution (distilled water with a few squirts of baby shampoo). Ive just done mine
I ordered an 18"spacesaver from The Wheel Shop in Manchester yesterday at 11am and DHL knocked on the door at 1.15pm today to drop it off. Can't we get these guys to run Royal Mail? Finally got myself a space saver spare from a BRZ used for £40 - fits perfectly with no additional boot floor height. Only going to pop it in on longer trips.
Just to say that Toyota Direct Parts are now accepting orders for the GR86 jack & handle. Received an email this morning with delivery date of 2 March.I was looking to buy the jack & handle, but got a message this morning from TDP:
"Good morning,
Toyota has still not provided us a solid ETA. It is on backorder still, we unfortunately have zero stock."
I bought the 118 kit from carnoiseur. If it’s the same kit it’ll fit. See my members’ car thread Here. I also bought a 12v compact tyre inflator to put in the kit.Road Hero Space Saver Spare Wheel suitable for Toyota GR86 (2021 onwards) Full Breakdown Safety Kit https://amzn.eu/d/jaodnvn

Anyone have one of these? If so, thoughts?
I've got this, only put it in the back for longer roadtrips. The wheel and kit all seem to be of good quality but it does make the boot floor sit slightly higher. The tools also have to go in the boot, not inside the wheel.Road Hero Space Saver Spare Wheel suitable for Toyota GR86 (2021 onwards) Full Breakdown Safety Kit https://amzn.eu/d/jaodnvn

Following a recent puncture, I went for the 18" steel wheel from The Wheel Shop, delivered in 24hrs and I'm very satisfied with it (I also bought a new water-soluble sealant to cover all bases). I'm now looking for something to make up the 8cms or so height deficit with the polystyrene tool-holding surrounds. Currently an old cushion suffices, but I've found that a 'Celebrations' chocolates tin fits the billThanks
From page 2 of this thread. A shaped boot liner to fit around a full size spare:Following a recent puncture, I went for the 18" steel wheel from The Wheel Shop, delivered in 24hrs and I'm very satisfied with it (I also bought a new water-soluble sealant to cover all bases). I suppose I could spray it black or use it as a mould with expanding polystyrene - but it seems a bit over the top for something that only I would see.

That's OK if you have a full-size spare, but with a narrower spacesaver, I'd like to retain the polystyrene tools holders and the existing flat boot liner. I just can't remember how my former GT86 dealt with this (it came with a spacesaver). From page 2 of this thread. A shaped boot liner to fit around a full size spare:
"This would give you back that space if you wanted something tailor fitted. The two cars have the same shape boot."

Ah, sorry, I mistook it that the area around the wheel (top of the polystyrene) was now low. That's OK if you have a full-size spare, but with a narrower spacesaver, I'd like to retain the polystyrene tools holders and the existing flat boot liner. I used a 6mm plywood board to sit on top of a space-saver, doubled it up with some 6mm strips where it sits on the tyre. There's also a felt sound deadening mat under the wheel. Total thickness to level it, mat+board, around 20mm.
