GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

18 month oil change during lunch break. Did one after 1000 km then second after 6 months. 12 months at the dealer and plan to keep up with an additional oil change inbetween every 6 months. So four changes in 5200km
Seems excessive with 4 changes in 5200 km? Any reason why?

Nope, if the car is being driven the way it was designed for then I don’t disagree with this approach. Even if it has not been driven hard the engine is not going to object to having fresh oil. It should not simply be based on mileage & duration between services…. Seen some shockers when oil on German cars is only replaced after two years and not replaced after run in because that is what is says in the manual.

Not even Porsche recommends to change oil that often even if running on track. So I am just wondering what reasons @v33 have?

Personally I have always gone with a couple of oil changes a year (owned BRZs since 2012) 0W20 winter and 05W30 summer. I average around 3K miles p/a with the majority of miles in the summertime. Do you need to do this? No you don't. Does it do any harm? No it doesn't. So I guess it's just a personal choice and one that won't cost you much if its your preference.👍

Got my car back today after 4 days at the service. Two weeks ago I’ve had it for an oil change and they showed me how the previous garage I was using “did” (not really) the undercoating (which was done in November of last year). All the cavities didn’t have any wax inside etc 😬

So I had it redone in the new place, while they had the car I asked them to install the camber bolts and differential insert bushings. The new alignment looks pretty solid with -2.00 camber at the front :)

Wanted to try the new alignment in action, took the car to Austrian Alps ⛰️ found out I have to take it to track so I can test the limits without worrying about ending up in a ditch 😅

Not obsessive at all.

It all boils down to strict EU eco politics.

Read the US manual for GR86 and Subaru BRZ - owners of the engine. Read the manual for Japan market as well.
It mentions specific mileage OR time interval, in this case, they expect engine oil to last maximum 6 months even if car is not exceeding the mileage - replace whichever comes first.

They look amazing. I bet you're really happy with them.
It just looks SO much better without black alloys! It's a pity it wasn't an option like in the rest of Europe . . .

BTW there are a number of offers via HDUK on 225/40 R18Y tyres at the moment, both Uniroyal RainSport 5 Performance (via Demon Tweeks Direct) and Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric (via Blackcircles)

Looks fantastic, I've grown to like the black but it doesn't do the wheel design justice after seeing them in gold.

I'd be keen to know what you think of the Goodyear's.

Ah yes that's what I meant! I had Goodyear searched on another tab 😅
