GR86 GR86 - What wheels and tyres are you thinking about?

Okay, so Spring is just around the corner and it'll be time to put the Summer wheels back on (Bola FLE in Hyper Black). I then have to decide what to do with the OEM wheels. Last year I had them powder coated in Piano Black. This year I'm thinking maybe flat gold or a light Bronze? Any other suggestions for a bright blue car?
If mine was blue (or red) it would definitely have gold wheels for the summer. ☀️

Looking to get a set of 17" alloys for the winter and was originally thinking 8J with 225 CC2's but can't find the finish I want in that wheel width, so looks like I'd have to go with 7.5J. Appreciate any comments if it might be better to keep looking for 8J's or if 7.5J's wouldn't make much of a difference in terms of handling, ride, etc...?
Not 17s but this was my old car with 225s on a 7.5J for reference. Sidewalls were completely flat. No stretch, no ballooning. Handling and ride were spot on.

Matt Black, Shadow Chrome or Gloss Black, any one of those 3.

Just a note... Not all 225 are actually the same. So whilst it's sold as a 225 different manufacturers actually measure up different.

They are Tokyo Wheels FXR 17x7.5J, ET48.

Fully forged only 7kg!!

They have a lovely ring to them when you ping your finger nail against them.

Some cosmetic touch-up to do, a bit of ceramic coating, then TPMS and tyres ready for the summer.

The size of tirewalls just gets smaller and smaller on new cars 🙄😛

The standard tyre size on my FK8 looked like someone had just put a rubber band around the rim. The used to prang on a cats eye or drop-kerb if i wasn't careful!

The standard GR86 wheel and tyre size was better, but going to 17s with an equivelant rolling radius + better rim protection of the Asym 6 tyres is so much less nightmare inducing. I still do my best to avoid potholes, but at least now when there's one that's unavoidable, I can drive over it without waiting for a dreaded clunk!

Found this image of a Toyota GR wheel on the Wheel Specialist website, I'm wondering if it belongs to anyone in the 'Zoo'? Looks to be a decent colour. Would that be classed as Copper or Bronze I wonder? Think I'll have to contact the website ...

Wheel Specialist (Teesside) is where I'm taking mine for this exact colour - it's actually named as a Bronze (can't remember the exact name), but it's popular, so it's one of their standard colours now. 'Special' February offer of 10% off the quoted price, so just over £300 for the four. Just have to get round to dropping the wheels off with them now . . .

Excellent! After numerous hours of ‘research’, my current thinking is getting them done in (Prismatic’s) Monaco Copper, which has the appearance of tarnished brass. It could all change by April though:

Does anybody know where I might pick up a set of Genuine ‘Volk Racing Formula Steel’ Wheel Nuts?
I’ve seen them on JDM Performance here, but I’m wary that they might just send me a set of £8 AliExpress knock-offs instead - I probably wouldn’t find out until a wheel came off 😲

I’ve seen some gold wheels on a blue GT86 and I was pleasantly surprised how good it looks.
