GR86 GR86 Confessions

The more I think about it, the more I believe you got to have owned a GT86/GR86/Caterham/911/Elise to be a real petrol head.

Afraid I don’t count owning an Alfa in that list. 3.0 v6 special, 156 steering sublime but everything else a nightmare.

Selling my GR86 out of necessity but know I’m going to be talking about it in the decades to come. A car for those who know what they are talking about.

If I win the lottery on Friday I’ll be keeping it.

I'm going to be parting ways with my GR86 in the next few weeks.

My wife made me stop in a multi storey the other day so she could eye up a blue modded A110 nestled in the corner out of harms way. Beautiful cars. Enjoy the Alpine Nick. Thanks for being part of the Zoo community.

So many cars... so little time! If it wasn't in my nature to get so attached to stuff I would be the same.

Seems to be the time of year with lots selling up. I debated it before I got my wheels as I felt it was a chunk of money in something I wasn't using enough for often silly reasons but realised I had nothing I really wanted to swap for and still have lots to learn with it. The second I drove it again after a few months off, any thoughts of that disappeared. I am also all too aware that life is short. These sorts of vehicles won't be about much longer. I aim to replace the Swift with an FK8/FL5 if budget allows once the 86 is paid for. Then buy a 2nd bike (still don't know what as so many dealers are miles from me now so Aprilia, Ducati, BMW and a few others are out) so I'll have all I need for years to come. Still have house bits to do too so also mindful of that.

I feel GR86 should be prescribed by doctors as antidepressant. Still, every time I get into mine I get that fuzzy sensation. Currently my is in for a 2nd service…

Mine hasn’t turned a wheel since October 🤦🏼‍♂️ The roads in the salt covered state they currently are it’s highly likely it’ll be April before it gets dragged back out of the garage. It’ll almost immediately be in for its second service in likely sub 2,500 miles total.

Ooh yeah, strong effort! Pretty sure that makes my two years and 3,400 miles raise me into the 'Grand Tourer' category by comparison then eh?! 😆

More importantly is there storage for your bottle of red, baguette, pack of gauloises and your mistress/mistresses discarded undergarments following a bit lunchtime adultery ? 🤷🏻‍♂️
