For me, like buying an selling houses, changing cars is such a faff I just can't be arsed with it. It's almost easier to get a 2nd or 3rd car. The 86 stays for years if not forever, the Swift when it does die will be replaced by an FK8/FL5. Still want a bike but will never sell the Triumph so the Aprilia Tuono seems to be ticking some boxes as is the BMW S1000XR for other reasons but support is miles away. If I was to change the 86 I'd need a day or two to remove everything, I'd have wheels to sell on and all the mods. It's just too much hassle.
Definitely has. That's why with the Swift it stays until it's literally scrap and I weigh it in myself. I can't be dealing with mouth breathers and timewasters off FB marketplace and the like. It's painful. For me it’s dealing with the endless timewasters when selling privately. It’s definitely worsened over the last five years or so.
Yup. After reading the PCGB Forum thread about GPF 'failures' (the associated article for which appears in the March issue of Porsche Post), I've decided that a 718 probably isn't for me, especially given that the GPFs are a 'when-not-if' £6k ticking time bomb replacemment. Porsche, who have never acknowledged the issue, have now added 'Particulate' Filters as an exception to their Warranty. Mmm, strange that eh?The grass isn’t greener, it’s just a different direction the sun (manufacturer) is shining on it!
Thanks Sonic for the breakfast read this morning. Someone did a good job in placing filter in the product name, same as DPF, punts it into the consumable catchment for owners. So they have the GPF in a 4in1 box, impressive on one hand and complex on the other hand. 981 anyone?Yup. Unbelievable eh!? No scheduled maintenance for it, not user replaceable, no warnings on the Dashboard that it needs clearing, just straight to Engine Management Light and a £7k bill! Apparently, some replacements are showing as 'blocked up' (even though they physically aren't) after only 10k miles. A GPF in a petrol car should last for the life of the vehicle, these aren't lumpy oil burners after all!...punts it into the consumable catchment for owners...
