GR86 GR86 - Auto Fold Mirror Kit

I bought my car from an earlier poster on this thread whose TRAC module didn’t work on keyless. I bought one myself from TRAC and it works fine both on key and keyless.

Which means the ones that are having a problem are most probably faulty units over a change in wiring from Toyota.

I ordered one from here as TRAC wasn't shipping to the UK anymore. Saw a UK review to say it worked with UK GR86. Same price.

Just arrived today. Not picked up the car yet so will revert once i know for sure.

Here's the connectors for anyone who knows.

They look right for the connectors, but misquote Eric Morecambe, they're all the right pins, just not necessarily in the right order.

Can you send pics of the loom, so I can compare the wire positions to the AliX one I got.

Did it work at all or just a dud? All the AliX one done was click a couple of times, which to me meant the unit was supplying power to do the window closure.

As promised:

This was the one I was asked to swap pins around if the grey wire is position 1, moving down the connector, I swapped 2 & 3 over (orange and purple) after testing for voltage pulse on locking and unlocking - with consultation with TRAC, I'm way too thick to have just thought of it.

This is the other main one, specific to the UK market (if that helps)

Happy to take any others - still disappointed it didn't work

Thanks for the pics. Would you be kind enough to take this a stage further and trace back the wires on each plug. At the moment, some of the wires are the same colour so can't work out pin position.

You can label each plug A B C etc and number the pin outs. Then follow the wire to the other plug and note the position.

E.G. Plug A position 1 goes to Plug B position 3

I can confirm that the Mod Society one works a treat (and keyless) for UK spec cars. We don't need the more expensive windows folding module as the UK cars have that already.

I can confirm that the Mod Society one works a treat (and keyless) for UK spec cars. We don't need the more expensive windows folding module as the UK cars have that already.

I’ve just fitted the Mods Society kit and very happy with it. Works perfectly, and the instructions on the video linked by wilster888 made it very simple to fit. With a bit of perseverance and a long prodding tool, the harness can be fitted behind the clear plastic without removing it. Didn’t get any photos of the install, but it was my first time getting the car in my newly fitted out garage . I definitely recommend laying something soft down if you’re doing it on the drive - need to put that door card down somewhere.

Anyone apprehensive about fitting this, don't be. You need to be aggressive pulling off the door card, after you have undone the 3 screws. The plugs are all different shapes so you can't get it wrong. You don't need to disconnect the cables. Whole thing can easily be done in less than half an hour.

I ordered mine from Mod Society on Boxing Day and it came the following week, very impressive considering it came from Australia. And no import duty or VAT to pay.
