..the fact is, the shove capacity of these cars is blistering, which for the (often) unaware or/and inexperient driver usually associated with EVs could be a recipe for disaster, unfortunately.
Teslas themselves are very capable and safe.. but it's that particular combination (car <> typical driver) that may be dangerous I think.

A question to put out there:
As the current pure ICE GR Yaris won't be available after 2030 as hybrids look like getting an extra 5 years or possibly even longer. This means the last orders will need to be taken at end of 2029 to allow for delivery what are the odds of the next GRY being a hybrid or even a full EV as a MK3 ICE GRY in this country would have a very small window to sell if Mk 3 comes out in 4 years time.
The new Renault 5 EV and Alpine A290 which I saw at Goodwood looked really good and I do wonder what a GRY would be like with an elecrtic motor front and back.
Will we see a full GRY EV in the near future? Would people consider it?
I use my GRY for fun only and a Yaris Cross for longer daily duties so an EV GRY with 200+ range would be OK for me for those trips into the Yorkshire Dales and the coast and back.

My plan is to wait and see what happens with WRC. If that goes electric and spawns of Rally based electric cars are created then those will be the one to buy for me.

Announced today is the Renault 5 3E is going into production (limited). This is a car I am genuinely interested in. Was always a fan of the Turbo/Turbo2 and have been lucky enough to been in one for a drive. So would love to get one of these new electric takes on the old 5.

I have done, but I imagine it'll be prohibitively expensive, 500hp, carbon monocoque. It'll be a 6 figure car easy.
 
No good for me. I would put my dog in the boot and set off like an idiot and she would be pinned up against the window like spider man going up the side of a building and then slide down it when I stop - barking out loud "what the f*** happened then".

I'm quite looking forward to seeing the Cyberster GTS (concept), which is a coupe version of MG's Cyberster. I think it's probably better suited to the UK's climate rather than the soft-top model ...

Yeah it is dumb, not sure why Renault didn't just call it the Renault 5 Maxi or something like that, like play with it.

BMW started making FWD one series after research showed 80% owners thought their rwd one series was front wheel driven.

Similarly, the large majority has no clue what a turbo actually is, it just means "fast". Even a large part of the minority that know what a turbo is, would have a hard time to accurately describe its function. Could even argue BMW started it, when 35i suddenly wasn't a 3,5l engine... At least they keep some of the old logic, contrary to other brands that change denominations so that nobody has a clue what it is...

Interesting decision from US - banning Chinese cars. Funnily its the freedom leader limiting the market but understand the protective thinking to an extent here. But they could just get few extra years unless really able to transform the approach

I mean... it entirely depends how you view China politically and how concerned you are about every Chinese business being a front for the CCP.

The fact that a huge chunk of US defence tech supply chain is reliant on China is insane.
