GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Went to C&M at the weekend with a bunch of Caymen.

Fits in nicely with that crowd. Squint your eyes and you'd be forgiven for mistaking it for a Cayman. At a glance, of course. In the dark. And if it was raining.

Also props for arguably the correct pluralisation of "Cayman". Very Alan Partridge. "Yes, I love Lexii..."

+1 to that. These are on my short list.

Is that the revolution ARB relocation mount?
Yep, it's the Revolution ARB relocation mount. Amazing how much difference it makes, just unlocks a lot more grip on a lowered car.

New: https://www.hks-power.co.jp/en/product_db/hipermax/db/36665
Old: https://www.hks-power.co.jp/en/product_db/hipermax/db/29849

HKS have launched a new Hipermax S this year March. So make sure to look for the new one.

Launched with different damper curves (looking like stiffer front and softer rear) and ride height/damper stroke settings

For those that have the old model, I suppose it's good to try out the new default settings. Which give you 12mm more travel up front, unless you have fine tuned it already.

Quick impression of the Hipermax S:
(Set to 10 clicks from full firm, default is 15, 5 clicks firmer than default)

Nearly zero downsides, rides just as well, much much better body control, noticeably better traction off the line. The car is much more responsive now and can exploit 100% of the tyre grip at will. However, it will punish bad driving as the car is more willing to do as it is told.

On the softer Grow design + stock damper setup, oversteer happens slowly. You got all the soft dampers travel to go through.

On the Hipermax S, you can control understeer and oversteer at will and at a finer margin, much easier for me to use the LSD now to rotate the car in a corner (not big smoky slides). Before, it's a bit all or nothing.

On a flowing road, below 8/10. The Grow design setup will allow you to feel the car roll and pitch with the road. Arguably better feeling.

Hipermax S just give me the ability to go beyond 8/10 with more confidence without giving up much.

Note, I have silly amount of supporting mods in the back of the car, it might be a bit different without them.

2 from South Wales going to the same place in Bicester, what're the chances we missed each other! Was a great day out. Yours is looking spectacular with the wheel and colour combo.
We mainly went as a friend was taking his new dog and I wanted to meet them.

Never did get to eat anything because of the queues and every 5mins I got "can I say hello to your dog?", even when in queueing for the toilet 😂

Where did you get them from? Suspension and brakes are still next to do once house bits are finished.

Back at work and filled up an almost empty tank with Shell V Power today, after not using the car at all over the last few weeks.

Eighty four pounds.

Hadn't realised I'd replaced my GR86 with a farkin Boeing 787 Dreamliner

I only use Tesco Momentum. Cost me £64 last week.
Shell certainly know how to charge. That’s a ridiculous difference.

Filled up my old CRV with Esso Supreme+ diesel. I do it once a month to clean injectors and try to keep DPF filter from clogging. £2.09 per litre and £95.59 for full pleasure.
Next day filled up my 86 with Esso Supreme+ 99, felt like a bargain at £70.
