GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

I think someone needs cake and a cuddle ...
Just boring though innit

Car showrooms used to be interesting, exciting places to visit with different things to sit in and brochures to flick through. This is boring being surrounded by Yariseses and CHRs or whatever they are called.

This is eating into my christmas shopping time too.

I wonder if Ms Fox would appreciate a Toyota GR Sport T shirt? Or perhaps a set of GR branded car mats for the Aygo X she is unlikely to ever have?

It could be worse, you could have taken it to Northampton for a service… Riverside Retail Park is ‘blessed’ with a Tesla dealership, Ford, Mercedes, Hyundai, Honda, Peugeot, Nissan, Mazda and MG.

Other than an electronic poster advertising the Prelude, an MX5 and a Dark House Mustang (literally polar opposites) there was nothing of remote interest. The worst is the music/radio many dealerships like to play across their forecourts.

CAR HAS PASSED ITS MOT!

🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Right then, it looks like I spoke too soon.

Here we are, four hours later with an "abandoned"/fail MOT, because the emissions testing machine has broken.

Should have been an two-hour while you wait appointment.

So a day off work taken today not used to the best effect.

May have to leave here without the new MOT.

Kinda pissed off.

Sounds to me like the only option is to curl one off on their doorstep

I tend to 'zero' my trip computer often so the 7 miles was me to the garage today (c.15 mins), but it looks like they had the engine running for a fair while.

Maybe I should bill them for V Power...

Anyway, home now without an MOT and without Christmas shopping and in a bad mood and hungry as a motherf**ker

FFS, you couldn't write this sh*t! What would they have done if, like me, you'd turned up with a SORNd untaxed car, just out of storage and needing the MOT in order to get it taxed and drive home legally? I wonder if they would have given you a loaner?
[/rantON]Absolute wnak stained dealership fcuktards! [/rantOFF]

Struck up a conversation with a bloke there having his motability car MOT'd/serviced. His MOT expired today, and he desperately needed his car. I heard the staff tell him there were no courtesy/loan cars available.

Whatever happens I'll have to make another journey there before next week.

It's a good job there aren't any public holidays or anything coming up soon, which may impact on opening hours or my list of things to do or social engagements or family commitments or how busy the bastard roads are etc. etc.

It could be worse, that could have happen with a prelude. Imagine that! 😁

In contrast to Mr Fox, my service experience went very smoothly today, they even stamped the service book which they'd forgotten to do for the previous two services. The service advisor lady said how much she liked the colour of my car. I had some nice coffee and biscuits. The showroom had an assortment of dullness.

It's the air filter that my dealership was short of for this service - and as far as I can tell they still haven't got it in yet.
Air filter arrived earlier this week - fitted today. What should have been a 2 minute job somehow took them 30 minutes . . . . must have coincided with someone's tea break. £33.02 inc VAT for the filter, which is Toyota list price.

I was at Abbey Motorsport today for some work (I'll write that up in a different thread). A different experience... offered a home cooked bacon bap (politely declined to protect waistline) and a lot of interesting metal to look around from model-a hot rod / several high spec turbo / supercharged GT86s to a mark ii jag all in for work. All work tackled by competent people able to discuss and provide good advice to you, as per their usual standards.

While back at home the Subaru franchise garage informs me the third warranty manager I have dealt is no longer with the company and the fourth asks me to re explain again my gearbox issues .....Argh! Its the same everywhere.
