GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

My appointment needs rescheduled due to Hello apparently. I suppose that's better than "due to us having oil filters in stock, please reschedule to when we haven't got any left".

Wrapped my A-pillar trims with fake suede - quite pleased with the results.
Also put some fabric tape on the two mounting clip holes which seems, so far, to have got rid of the annoying cracking noise when it's cold.View attachment 39098View attachment 39099
Did the same thing a few months ago and the cracking noise when cold hasn't reoccurred. I reckon it must be the edges of the A pillar trim touching the window.

Finally the hosepipe ban was lifted and I have washed my car. It was in a filthy state. 6 months without washing 😢
If you've had a hosepipe ban for the last few months you should probably be writing to your local MP.
Autumn 2025 was exceptionally wet, with Northern Ireland having its third wettest autumn on record (since 1836), and northern England its fifth wettest, with widespread above-average rainfall across the UK.

Drove to the the UK from Copenhagen over the weekend. Not too bad conditions, even nice sun in France. Transported my nervous traveller dog and it was a bit of a master class on how not to do it! I'll update the appropriate "transporting dogs" thread when I have recovered!

Before someone comments - she was in a harness for the trip!

On a more exciting note going to Abbey Motorsport later this week to have some work completed. I´ll update when done.

BRZ gen2 in the UK count now 3? for a bit anyhow.

I was in Copenhagen a couple of weeks ago for work. I should have kept an eye out for you. But I was too busy trying not to get run over by bikes.

I thought your dog had buck teeth for a second

Continuing to pile the miles on since the job change in October.

Have gone from c.3k miles a year (Dec 22 to Sept 25) to a projected 22k to 24k a year.

Not ruled out changing in the new year/next spring.

MOT #1 and service #3 booked for Thursday...

I'm currently at the dealers "enjoying" a while you wait service experience and MOT.

Asked to "bear with them" this morning, as the MOT tester is off work today, having been "punched in the face last night in Leicester".

Well, who hasn't been?

Attempting to entertain myself by mooching around the sales stock.

Had a sit in the other new stuff and can't remember anything about any of them.

Wandered over to Alfa Romeo across the road. Tonale is pleasant enough inside, but brand new ones have rusty wheel hubs. Alfa Junior is quite nasty inside and isn't very Alfa - feels very generic and at £30k plus, overpriced. Was ignored by grumpy looking staff when I wanted to ask about the cars. Oh well.

Might wander over to VW but just looking at the stock outside from the window here I'm nodding off.

I really can't bring myself to walk over to Vauxhall.

Eleventh cappuccino and post this waffle on here then, by the look of it.

Merry f**king Christmas.

Any Giulia QVs at Alfa? They’re tempting me as a do it all car at the moment.
