GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Thinking back to the GT86 which had the same bracing setup it was never a problem. Some guys in the US said it disappears with a different tyre and wheel setup.
On another note I hit a milestone this morning.
On reflection this is a very good car, it really is, an antidote to pretty much everything going on in automotive world, just wish I could exploit it more, maybe some track days in 2025 I think...

I have to admit it has taken me 18 months to actually 'enjoy/like' the 86 (maybe this is one for the confessions thread!? But its strange, having until recently only done short local in around town runs and long mway drives I had started to look for something else in recent months as thought it just wasnt right for me, however since June starting a new job 40 min drive 3 days a week to the office which is a mix of A & B roads its now finally something I enjoy driving, I've a route which has some nice flowing roads and not too many holes and if I beat the start of the school run wombles then it can be a fun drive and suits the car.
To the extent I thought well if I am keeping it I might as well make it how I want it, so next steps:
- @ctecperformance exhaust ordered (thanks to Matt @ZN8 and the reviews on here + speaking to Nigel at C-TEC sealed the deal)
- sound deadening to improve the longer journeys I think will focus on wheel wells/arches
- looking into a short shift kit
- speaker upgrade, the Focal kit seems a great value option
- possible clutch spring replacement though I am more used to it and think its less aggressive than when it was new
- the icing on the cake would be if the 2025 throttle remap I've read about due for international markets on MY25 can be added to UK cars.
- oh and I'd like to change the wheel colour, I dont like black but havent worked out the right colour to go with a silver car.
- ducktail, 70% PPF coverage, front mudflaps and parking sensors now 18 months old and very pleased I have them.

The throttle map is interesting and I'd like to get it too. Even with the diff kit, 2nd gear in the cold can still be a bit kangaroo unless you just send it.

Yes agree, when the engine is cold i go from 1st to 3rd whenever I can , not ideal but 2nd can be horrific unless like you say you bury the throttle which isnt a good thing to do on a cold engine.

In order of things I would like...
1) Throttle map
2) Brembo's
3) Dampers
4) EPS
On topic, managed to get a large box in the back with the seats down for the first time. Box was sliding around all over the place, must remember to look for tie-down spots next time I need to do this

The neighbours gave my car a little modification with their bin
It's hardly anything major, but when you spend the time and effort trying to keep it damage free and somebody else dents it then it's a bit frustrating.
A quick trip to a local PDR place and you can't tell it's happened though.

Been putting in some serious hours behind the wheel over the last week. I started in Copenhagen and I am now resting in South of France near Toulouse. With my wife accompanying me I drove 12 hours Tuesday, rested Wednesday, took an automotive pilgrimage Thursday - 5 1/2 hours, then 7 hours Friday and 6 hours yesterday, rest breaks obviously taken on top of those times! Motorway first days then route national in France with plenty of great backroads.
Despite initial reservations this really is a superb long distance car. The seats are probably the best I have experienced including my Saabs and various Recaros. I find the car keeps me fresh and alert just the right amount. It tracks dead straight with little need for constant correction and whilst noise levels are highish the front drone is really only an issue on perhaps 10% of European road surfaces. I once had a superb Citroen c6 that should have been brilliant at long distances but was so soporific I struggled to stay awake after 2 hours, no such issues in the BRZ. So circa 2800kms, north of 40mpg and wife still talking to me!
Oh and the car looks great in southern sunlight.

I found a small one on the passenger door from the one time I park where someone couldn't parked next to me and it was at a funeral. Nearly took 2 spaces but being nice I didn't and I got back to a Citroen at a mad angle and I was convinced they would've dinged it to get out but couldn't see it at the time. Found it today cleaning. You can barely see it but I know it's there so I'll have to sort it.The neighbours gave my car a little modification with their bin

Aren't the panels aluminium? No issues with the fix? How long did it take?

This week
- protected various parts of the interior with stick-on black velvet material
- fitted ppf to the headlights
- replaced halogen with led bulbs
- added black caps (which I didn't know I needed until I fitted them!)
...and uplifted my insured mileage from 2,000 to 12,000 now that I'm using it daily.

I did give the car a damn good clean as it was 'grimey' and covered in dust even though it's used everyday, but my post is more of a question . . .
The GT86 made a point of you being able to take a full set of wheels and tyres inside, to change at your track day - has anyone done the same in the GR?
(Am I going to have to take 'the other car' to pick up a set of wheels, or can I use the 'proper car')

Only 15" wheels, but no problem fitting them in.
Yes. Full set of OEM wheels fitted with the standard '215' tyres. Back seats down, passenger seat forward a bit. Single layer with a two-stack behind the passenger seat. Same routine for when @Alistair31 came to collect the tyres in his GR86.
