Were there any issues with the car having an aftermarket exhaust?
I’m assuming that if they paid out then not an issue.
Were there any issues with the car having an aftermarket exhaust?
And the real kicker here is that it doesn’t solve the problem and owners are back where they started after a short time.Be thankful it wasn’t a Porsche - the combined Cat/GPF has been declared a ‘wear and tear’ filter and is no longer covered under Warranty. I’m reading about multiple 718 owners being billed £7k - £10k for new parts!
Standard exhaust was fitted. Were there any issues with the car having an aftermarket exhaust?
That is an insane amount of money. You could get the best quality aftermarket catted manifold and have it heatshielded in inconel and installed for less than that.Grateful to have my car back today and more grateful still for having warranty cover. (Replacement of the catalyst £3192 !!)
Possibly a silly question, but you know your rear plate is MIA, right?
I think you'll probably find it's been 'photoshopped' out ....Possibly a silly question, but you know your rear plate is MIA, right?
You may well be right! On first glance it looked like those plates they have underneath to secure the VRN to.I think you'll probably find it's been 'photoshopped' out ....
MrsTheWifes car has been a victim of cloned plates, so I always try and take them out when posted on-line (where possible). Mine is private, but can't be too careful.Possibly a silly question, but you know your rear plate is MIA, right?
Kit arrived promptly, very impressed with priceI think thats a good price for a quick service, have just ordered a service kit

EML came on but there was no physical sign of fault anywhere, car running flawless, so they determined it must be the oxygen sensor, they replaced that and a week later the EML reappeared. Back in and they said it must be an internal fault with the catalyst. Replacement approved by Toyota and I got car back today.
For anyone coming across this issue in future/online search, Error code was;
P0420 (Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1)
Oh!had that on my c1...replaced the second lambda sensor all is fine £56.00
Oh FFS! That’s annoying. I can’t imagine it’s an air filter problem or dirty fuel, so I wonder if there is a leak in the system somewhere or a crack in the manifold? I’d be tempted to reset the code with an OBD tool, throw in some octane booster/fuel cleaner and give the car an ‘enthusiastic’ drive in the first instance.… the EML is back with the same fault code![]()
Nothing to add, but from the price, that looks very light. 2nd year service is a fixed £500-odd job and there is no mention of the diff oil on that invoice.Have just emailed the dealer I use for servicing to ask if the rear diff oil can be changed on my 3rd year/30k service in January. Hoping this doesn't end up being too much of a faff.
No mention of the diff oil on the 2nd year service invoice so can only assume it wasn't done. Anyone have an example of what the diff oil does look like on the service invoice, please?
Edit: this is what my second year invoice looks like:
I had a discount from the Toyota Owner’s Club, and this was fixed at the previous year’s pricing due to when I’d booked it.Nothing to add, but from the price, that looks very light. 2nd year service is a fixed £500-odd job and there is no mention of the diff oil on that invoice.
