GR86 "That's a fresh whip bruv"; or the Toyota GR86 collated feedback thread

I had a royal mail delivery arrive list night. the young posty said, "Is that a RX8?". I said, "No, It's a GR86." and he replied with "Well, you know, It's dark, but it's a really cool car mate."

It amused me that we had this conversation as he handed me a box which unbeknownst to him contained a steering wheel spacer. Imagine how much more cool he would think I was if he knew is was nerding out over maintaining proper reach to the steering wheel while trying to get as close as I can to a feet up, leant back driving position.

Just had an Amazon delivery, and the courier stopped to ask me about the car, said he loved it and thought it looked brilliant. Chatted for a bit, he said his brother was looking at importing one as they're hard to get now. I feel really bad because I told him to get in touch with Rogue Motorsports who do imports....realised after he'd gone that I got mixed up, I meant "Torque GT"....got my importers and specialists mixed up 🤦‍♂️ I'll have to see if he is the courier for our next order, so I can correct myself.

Gave the car it's first good clean in months yesterday so it's sat outside my house gleaming. I was stood in the kitchen making a brew earlier and a delivery van went past in its way up the road. Driver stopped next to it and just gawped at it for a while before continuing.

You'll be fishing your deliveries out of your neighbours' stinky bins for weeks

wrong thread.
Sort of feedback related, and in the spirit of the original post (delivery driver) I suppose?

Anyway - talking of wrong thread:

Chuck Norris bought a GR86 in the UK and it came with an alarm as standard.

Actually, rumour has it he ordered an alarm from Toyota GB and it came with a free GR86 attached.

RIP

Just popped to Tesco for fuel, and as I was filling up, the guy behind me started chatting about the car. He actually asked if it was 3-cylinder, think he'd seen the GR and Toyota badges and was thinking of the Yaris, didn't know what it was. Surprised when I said it was only 230 or so horsepower, but not disappointed, he seemed to be someone who understood the point of it. Said it was nice, like a proper little old school British sports car, just made in Japan.

Unfortunately he scuppered my plans for a cheap full up. I don't really need a full tank as I'm working from home a lot, and it seems silly to brim it with fuel prices as they are. But I wanted to put in enough for a drive tomorrow morning if I wanted. My plan had been wash the car, drive to Tesco so it could dry off, then just stick in 30 quid or so. But I was distracted chatting to this guy and ended up filling up without even noticing. On the plus side, that also means I didn't really look at the litre cost, but I'm sure it started with "16..." for Momentum.

170.9 for Super at my local Texaco yesterday, so 74 quid fill-up
Combined with a lad holding the shop door open for me and asking "Is that your Supra?" :ROFLMAO:
At least he knew what an 86 was when I corrected him, then said it's a nice car and is it on Insta...

Paying for fuel today...
"What car is that, is it a Supra? We gets loads of Lamborghinis and Porsches here but I've never seen one of those before".

Someone in a GT86 waved at me too!
