Walking back to the car at the far end of a supermarket carpark with my wife, we clocked a gent, would place in his 60’s, getting closer to the car. Given that there was no others around, it was a given he had intent to go up to the GR. Whilst looking at the rear of the GR he turned around to see us walking up and pointed to us and then to the car, I gave a nod and a slight smile whilst pondering what would come next upon arrival at the car. The gents face then lit up and now we were in hearing distance, said “I had to come and look at it as it is stunning”. He knew it was a Toyota and said GT86, after a quick chat he was then furnished with a brief history, how many were made, trump card details of the engine spec and drivetrain. Nice chap who had a range of interesting car including owning a launch year MR2, and like many of us was rather animated about the state the car industry has got itself into (with the help of the Government and Chinese), and that would not want to drive around in a blob mobile.
After 10 minutes we wished him the best and went on our way, walking away he said “it has made his day!”.
