Sat at 70 returns 35mpg or thereabouts for me. Drop to 60 it'll do 45.

Average is 29 now. This is mainly motorway though.

Significantly worse when out for a hoon, it likes to sip the petrol for sure.

500 miles in

Still, not as bad as the 200 miles to a tank my e92 m3 did. Got a bit fed up with filling that up.

450 mile average it 36mpg which is better than I expected, the distance to empty reading is useless though, its miles out.

The short journeys and big boots are not helping much. I did a longer run today and it edged up to 22! That's average over the last few tanks.
213 miles range after brimming it!

Happy with motorway mpg. Reading - Milton Keynes : 50.0mpg avg
Followed max speed limit and lowest following distance of the adaptive cruise.
Same way of driving
Reading to London motorway mpg was 55!
Never thought it would approach Prius levels on motorway
In town it settles around 25.5mpg
We have horrendous traffic in Reading (worst in U.K. I’d think)

Could be a West Yorks thing; I'm not averaging much more than that, although I have far fewer miles on mine so I'm hoping that's a factor.

Are we definite that it's a 50L tank? That'd say 45L to me with that range

I did a 500 mile trip Sunday/Today... up to 1800 miles now... averaged 35 mpg on the trip.... average speed on motorway 70-80 and was very comfortable cruiser actually. Never really have to downshift, which is a BIG diffrence frrom the GT86!

It's listed in the manual as a 50l tank, and the last car had the same. The range estimate just seems to be overly pessimistic, unfortunately.

Is there a way in which you can re-set the Average MPG figure?
would like to be able to zero it each time I fill up, so it reflects the current mpg rather than the longer term mpg.

Hovering around an (indicated) 32mpg for me. That's a good mix of driving including some stop start traffic and motorways.

Exactly the same as me. mixed quite a lot of motorway and A roads. Most I have had on a run is 36 and that was never going over 70 over about 150 miles. Don’t understand how anyone could get 50 unless they drove down motorway at below 60 in top gear even then I am not sure it would work.

I was also shocked with 50.0 mpg. Reading to Milton Keynes we had steady traffic. I stayed on the fast lane but we always had cars in the front. I imagine some slip stream advantage contributed to the figure. I kept the adaptive cruise at closest distance I have to say it is brutally accurate in following traffic in front. Mine is an auto with longer 6th gear. Where the car lets down is in town. I am getting 27 in the city with traffic at the moment.

I really can't see you got 50 actual average. I'm calling shenanigans. The manual is more efficient than the auto... and driving at 50, I reset the MPG average for a 10 mile mobile roadworks... and even that at 50, in 6th gear that was pushing 42... and I've done 2k miles, so arguably my engine is more broken in.

I think you've read the wrong dial imo, above it is the "consumption at present" middle is the average. 50 is borderline impossible at actual sensible speeds and not travelling exclusively downhill, whilst also a tail wind pushes you on... PLUS, the gasps and whispers of your fans willing your MPG to be that high. This is the only way, whilst also travelling at 42 mpg in 6th gear for extended duration.

Short term, you could achieve 50... but on any actual distance... (1 mile or higher) I have my doubts.
