GR Yaris (Gen 2) Process for purchase

It won’t make a difference, I also don’t get why everyone is so anti paying it. Maybe the same people that fit budget tyres to cars?
Of course it will, not everybody is made of money! If the GR Yaris is £1,000,000, there won't be any sold and for some people having to stump up an extra £390 is going to be an additional burden they won't want to pay especially as it's likely to come at the same time as the insurance bill. It's not that anybody is anti paying it, it's what can they afford.

I think you’re forgetting a good percentage of UK owners have this as a toy to their more expensive vehicles for each person that says no there will be another 2 waiting to take the slot.

It's a tax, who likes paying taxes ????? Might be more fun to fit budget tyres, less grip. Toyota fitted the prius eco tyres to the GT86 to make it more fun by having less grip.

No one likes paying them but they exist so just accept if you want anything fun these days it has to be paid.

Personally I think it needs to be set at £50/60k region as cars have increased in price but the tax hasn’t.

Sure, I'd count myself in the "toy" camp but I'd still balk at renewal time to pay the same tax for this as some of my other cars!

How? Before OTR costs?

Great comments . I find it really prophetic of Toyota that the two special edition GR's developed by the Rally Pros are only available in IMT .... :) that says it all to me . Wink . The two pedal is there to make a great car available to those less fortunates ( for many genuine reason's) and the masses . So everyone can enjoy it . Nice bit of "drive rsification " Toyota !

Don't think I'll be on the ballot but I'm happy to wait. Limited for a year and then surely, fill your boots, once everybody has already gone crazy!

Not sure about ‘fill your boots’. The production process is still pretty slow, so I would expect each batch to sell out pretty quickly each time they’re announced. It looks unlikely we’ll get as many this time around, but no one seems to know that for sure just yet.

Fair enough, but they'd be mad not to sell as many as they possibly can! GR86 was originally limited to 400 in the UK but How Many Left shows over 1000 cars sold and I'm not sure how accurate that data is in any case.

Data is accurate to the last DVLA data which is published every 3 months.

Well that's good enough for me! So they actually delivered quite a LOT more than originally planned.

Ideally, they'd do the same with this car. still think it's punchy on price though. £44k gets you into quite a bit of tasty metal these days especially with a discount. It's still quite a small car, a bit too expensive to be a station car, makes a decent case as a second car, I guess but kind of feels like it's maybe 4th or 5th car material if you have to have a new car. But I'd struggle to walk past a number of used cars to get this to be honest, I'd probably prefer to spend a bit more money and get something else.
