GR Yaris (Gen 2) Process for purchase

Just wrote an email to my Toyota dealer here in Switzerland, asking about the process and whether they would take my current GR Yaris. I configured mine in grey, with premium pack and forged wheels, as this time it seems to include all the circuit pack bits anyway.

Some good and worse news: if I order now I would get delivery this December, but the market is saturated with old GR Yaris so prices are quite low. So I wouldn't get a good exchange price for my old Yaris. It's probably not worth it for the little changes the new one offers, but I'm still really tempted, I think I'm gonna do it :p

So, are there still some Mk2 GRY available to order in Switzerland?
As far as you know, how many were allocated there within the 2024 batch?

Oh yeah they're taking orders. No idea how many will be delivered for 2024 though.

I got excited but I'm gonna follow reason and not gonna pay an upprice worth of 25k for the mk2. The mk1 sold extremely well here and now the market is saturated. I'll see how prices evolve and might get one at some point but not for now. Family and friends talked me out of it.

Gonna enjoy my 2021 GRY for now. It's an excellent car.

Congratulations on making the smart choice.
If you want to get yours up to the level or further then a MK2 there is always the aftermarket.

The MK1 lots of different people could afford it and did buy it which was good to see.
alx describes it as an "up price of 25k" to exchange into the MK2. That does look about right.
I think that will move the GRY from the "most" petrol heads car to a new higher bracket of the "few". Those that are loaded it will be no problem if they can get one but those possible younger drivers who stretched themselves with the deposit and low finance may now struggle with the higher purchase price and £600 road tax.
I will look again at MK3 when I feel I have had some moneys worth from my MK1 but if the likes of Mat Watson and other YouTubers surprisingly gets one then I would be a little annoyed at Toyota and the system and start to think of different options - or probably just keep mine mint and keep for as many decades as possible after all, it is and always will be the original with the badge to prove it.

Just looking at what's available at the moment and somebody is selling a gen 2 for £48k (punchy) and an effectively brand new gen 1 is £42k!!! Think they've missed the memo that the car market isn't what it was!
