did few run in brakings with new discs and must admin the stopping power is back to impressive level. Completely on different level compared to old discs.

What pads are you using with the Alcons? How much did you pick up the discs for? I will prob get a set of Alcon discs when the time comes.did few run in brakings with new discs and must admin the stopping power is back to impressive level. Completely on different level compared to old discs.

it was 649€ per disc via Sarlin Racing. I'm still using RP-X. 2nd set in use, maybe 3/4 so should be good for this summer. What pads are you using with the Alcons? How much did you pick up the discs for? I will prob get a set of Alcon discs when the time comes.

Just ordered a set of the Valinos in 215/45/17 as my Cup 2 will be over in about a month. Look forward to them!r. With Valinos, car spins four wheels when accelerating on 2nd gear on wet asphalt so need to be concentrated but lots of fun opportunities available.
Maybe need to visit track more often when wet, just to practice car handling and drifts vs. lap times. after all, its at least as fun as pushing hard.
yeah.. I prefer weight and performance to longeivity. Can report how they discs last in my use.Good to have feedback on Alcons, as I'm considering these or Girodiscs and need to decide if the price difference is worth the higher Alcon price.
It doesn't help that I haven't got a comparison of their weight nor estimated longevity (ie, starting & worn thickness for each) to help decide based on data.
Aware of @Onehp leaning towards cheaper ones hasn't lured me into that end if the spectrum. Perhaps not yet.
GR Yaris Post in thread 'Time for new brakes'
I think most adtermarket disks are worn when they are down 1mm per side. The OEM are thick and iirc (needs to be fact checked) can take 1,5mm or 3mm total* = 50% more life. They are bit heavy and not as good cooling but just fine for road use then. And they get noticably lighter with use (congrats if you can notice that though)
I would just get the cheapest if not running them seriously hard on track...
There is DBA also.
*28mm to 25mm?
Thanks for detailed info, how would the temps have been with non vented OEM bonnet, is there a discernable reduction?went for short recreational walk with GR, and same time measured the underhood temps with Rally2 vents.
Temp sensor was located on top of airbox snorkel.
Ducts seem to work faily well from 50kmh onwards. In city they gave 2-3'C above ambient and on road it drops to 1-2'C.
City traffic had few stops. Ambient temps were btw 17-20'C during drive.
here are few temp measures from cold car (50% in city 50kmh, then later 50% on faster narrow road, 80kmh). And back vise versa.
The middle pic is how temps went when car was waiting for 1hr. Oils reached 95'C after first drive.
BTW with fresh discs the RP-X's dust like mad.
1. starting the car from garage, cold engine. Temps rose max to 21'C but then dropped to 20'C (1-2'C above ambient).
2. car in parking lot, hot engine. Temps rose to 37'C, then dropped to 27'C, and started slowly rising (car was parked in sun).
3. Back home, oil temps in start 70'C. temps dropped quite fast to 22'C on road, and then rose marginally few degrees in city.
In total vents work quite well. with aluminum intake plenum intake temps seems to be highish when driving slow as manifold heats up from engine, but intake temps drop too when pushing harder as more cooler air flows through it.
Car feels bit brisker now, not sure if its thanks to vents with IC working more efficiently, or from lighter brake discs. maybe combination of both.
goes certainly fast enough for narrow road fun.

I measured it some point but should try to search the old results. Thanks for detailed info, how would the temps have been with non vented OEM bonnet, is there a discernable reduction?
10-20deg above ambient down to 1-2deg above ambient is a worthwhile improvement. Assume you would also see lower peak engine oil temps?I measured it some point but should try to search the old results.
This i measured on track day 1.8.2022. It was hot day, temps 25'C or so.
If I rememer correctly I measured temps while driving to track and then on track. the last high peak is when car was stationary in pits after lap run.
The drive to track is 80km/h country road. looks like its 10-20'C above ambients with stock hood.

I am not able to log oil temp data but if cooling pack works more efficiently would assume so.10-20deg above ambient down to 1-2deg above ambient is a worthwhile improvement. Assume you would also see lower peak engine oil temps?
Havent driven on track so hard to judge. I will visit track mid June so then its easy to see if fast corner (+135km/h) trap speeds are any higher than before.Do you find there’s less lift/more grip on the front with these installed?
Maybe the handbrake is draggingdid some 150km of local road funs with GR. its awesome car, except the fuel economy is somewhat miserable when comparing to my audi. I can fill Audi once in a month whereas with GR its one drive and fillup.![]()
