GR Yaris Hello there

The stock recirc valve bolts (T30 Torx) gave me a hard time. Everything else is brand new as you can see in the picture (08/24 and 4500km~ car). You will also need to remove the turbo elbow / inlet to get access to the valve.

Instructions:

Good luck. :) Ive surrendered. Wanted to install the Turbosmart Plumb Back Variant while installing the Forge inlet but gave up in the end. Not because its hard to reach but because the bolts were rusted and ive would destroyed the thread if i kept pushing. :D
Went to say hello for BOV. Rust noted also here in bolts, maybe ask local Toyota shop if they could do it.

Sorry to hear that you face the same fate but i guess thats the best solution to pay someone to do it. :D

Seems the bolts used for the bov are low quality or under much stress (heatcycles) since the rest of the bolts on mine where like new.

Best lap from yesterday.

Quite sloppy driving.
Tires did not work in their optimal pressure, most likely as wheel is too narrow. was better at 2.2bar.
Nankang was ok on the limit and was faster than cup in fast and slow corners.
Trap speeds were 2kmh slower than last time I was there, it was hot (vs cool) day and maybe heavier tire set doesn't help either.

then next summer we should go to 2:04's!

comparison data between nankang and cup2.
(different days so not fully compareable but still).
For some reason cup2 seems to perform better in braking. Maybe the pads are in end of their life or then cup2 is just better.

Today changed engine oils after two track sessions. Oil looked quite dark so good time to swap.
used the suction type pump and it got 3.5ltrs out, maybe okeyish for this intermediate swap.

Measured the CR-S tyres and they totalled 97cm as a pile.
all tires looked quite ok, except rears had gathered lots of crap in inner side. maybe need to clean those out at some point.
Put drifing tyres back on as they're more fun on b-roads.

Valinos are way more slippier than Nankangs - easy to break traction on moist tarmac in braking and acceleration.
Not the best tire if you are not aware of its characters. Should visit local track to practice LFB at some point. for that it doesn't matter if its wet or dry, actually wet would make it more fun.

My Cup2s are down and I‘ll finally get the Valinos mounted along with the Öhlins next week… Look forward to it!

Is it possible to change X axis to distance/track position instead of time?
Asked from racebox support and on their mobile app there is pos related comparison available already. On web app there is not. But mobile app is in use on track so its good starting point.

Did a short comparison between tyres.
1. st turn CR-S 0.1 faster
2 nd turn Cup2 0.1s faster (maybe just got better speed in turn)
3. similar speed until Las palmas. there the cup2 lap was compromised due to slower car but after Palmas Nankang was 0.3s ahead.
4. fast left hander before Lemminkäinen CR-S much faster, delta in Lemminkäinen braking 0.6s.
5. twisty straight to new section, Cup2 catches 0.1s. section requires precise driving due to undulations and fast slight bends.
6. In long slow right hander on new section, CR-S is faster and delta after turn is 0.7s, and exit speed is higher with CR-S.
7. in the end of long back straight delta is already 0.9s. Maybe too early braking with nankang but results much better turn in speed.
8. In twisty last few turns, exit speeds are better with CR-S so car carries more speed into next turns. 0.3s gained in first tight right hander, and another 0.1s in next left hander.
9. Same story in last corner so CR-S carries more exit speed (+4km/h). Cup2 catches in speed in the end of the lap but difference is already 1.5s.

All in all, CR-S mostly faster in corner exits and entry's. Maybe if I get the turns dialed in the difference would be even better.
I didn't get tire into full working window TBH so I believe it should make easy 2:04 times next time if the stars align.

On the second set of 235 CR-S on 8.5, exclusively "b-roads." Took them off and put PS4S back on for this exact reason. The car's a lot more fun when it slides on a second gear corner exit :)

Here in Japan, JAF regulated motorsports has now classified the CR-S as an "S" tyre, even though it's a 200TW. Running them in something like gymkhana puts the car in open class... Not fair, IMO, but it's a fast tyre.
