GR Yaris Hello there

Made a GR little bit lighter

Did you open up the rotors for the Audi deflectors? Show us the result not the scrap bits đŸ˜€
not so fancy cuts to be celebrated. I twisted the center part towards the car so that there would be a path for air for disc center. should work better still.
Left some sheet metal to protect the steering knuckle pin from heat.

Very glad to hear!

Bear in mind that, after the swap, your geo settings may no longer be what you set them to last time.

I think an alignment, or at least check, is advisable after such jobs.
you're correct- car felt quite ok in test drive as an alignment, went straight and was stable, but maybe its good to do check.

Went for test drive - wow what a improvement in rear feel in direction change and on load in corner. Can warmly recommend this if you want improve the feedback!
Cool - thought about it for quite a while now. Are you still running the stock suspension and did you notice an impact on NVH?

I'm with winter wheels but frankly didn't hear any extra noises compared to stock bushings. yes stock suspension still. I've changed the caster bushing in front and now this was first in rear.
Installed Torques +30% to Toyota spec - no issues.

The rear swaybar upper bolt is PITA to remove but luckily I have fancy locking pliers that did their job 150% so was able to remove the upper bolt.
Problem there is that bolt housing starts turning with nut unless you can keep it steady, and the 6mm allen that is supposed to keep the bolt in its place goes bad quite easily. so used the pliers to keep the bolt in its place instead.
Not the best engineering IMHO with that design by Toyota but what can you do.

Can warmly recommend the solid bushings with trailing arms as they provide excellent feedback from the road when driving a recce runs. Much easier to get grip on what is happening between the road and the car. Only downside is that there is "filtering" removed from the road so you feel all the road undulations and imperfections in your seat. but, that's the small downside.

Greased the brake pins while adjusting the rear handbrake, and front brakes seems to be quite sticky. maybe the dust seals are broken.
Any recommendations for best approaches fixing the front brake stickiness issue is welcomed. maybe need to remove the front pistons and replace the dust seals?

My experience of this type of caliper is that sounds like a full rebuild. If the seals have let dust in then that needs cleaning and new seals.

Ordered set of 2-piece Alcon discs to GR. Should be improvement to stock but to be seen.

First track session for this season at Kymiring.
Was fun day. Improved lap time by 1.5s (now best 2:11.45), with same now two years old Cup2.
Car did not like too aggressive driving so clean seems to be fast with stock suspension GR Yaris.

Beat the manual mk2 by 2.5s (lap time) even it was on wider tyres, so in real life mk2 is not that much faster.
maybe its just a marketing gimmick.

Car is now quite adjustable in turn in with brakes.
Got still some steering lock but now actually did not find it that frustrating as was dialing car into corner with steering input and trail braking so it was actully quite fun car to drive.
To improve lap time would still need more camber, but will not go there as like to use car on the street aswell.

Rear tyres seem not to get warm at all, according tyre temp gauge they got to 24'C, where as front were at 45'C.
Pressures 2.4-2.6 hot in front, and 2.3-2.4 hot in rear.

rear diffuser got melted abit from hot exhaust, maybe its too loose now. need to ask service guys to check its mounting when it goes there in few weeks.
exhaust is not moving.

Regarding car's engine performance, it was mixed results - mostly working ok but occasionally pulling back boost especially on long back straight.
The trap speeds on back straights were similar to 2023 session (212kmh max), whereas on main straight I managed to get 8kmh higher end speed (172 vs 180kmh).

Oil temps stayed below 105'C as it was 10'C.
