To use an ol’ phrase “We know a song about that, don’t we kids?”Roundabout I know well almost spun me round.
Not a great experience - when I went to collect, they said the printer for the wheel alignment sheet was out of ink and they had only recorded one set of wheel alignments. They insisted it had been done and I took them at their word as I had to get back for work. How’d you get on with ATS checking the alignment etc?
One week in with the SC7s, and I must admit, I am impressed. The dry weather grip today was something else, much more confidence inspiring than I ever felt the PS4s were. The wet commute I had the other day was again, very impressive as I had to make at least one 'there is an idiot in an EV (usually Cupra badged) looking for a race' type braking manoeuvre. Maybe it's the new tyre effect but for wet weather they are not that far off the CC2s. Okay, they are not an all season tyre for the colder weather but certainly better than the stock PS4 tyres. Oh, and the CC2s that I took off were barely half worn after 20k miles, so they are in the garage either for resale or reuse for another winter.Well, after nearly 20k miles, it's time to say goodbye to the Michelin CC2s in 225 width. On Friday, I am having four 225 wide Continental SportContact 7s fitted, £405 all in. I will keep the CC2s just in case they are needed next winter for a short stint, they have done me well. I did call the insurance stealers to double check, so that was another £20 just for good luck. The SC7s do have good reports in the wet, so lets see how this summer treats us! Just in time before the second service and JapFest.![]()
Still going with 35 coldThose who have changed tyre size to 225 / 40 / R18, what pressure are you putting in please?
I had a similar thing with National tyres. I asked around all the "alignment" places in the area and they were the only ones who would touch anything with aftermarket suspension. At least they got rid of the visible toe in that was a result of lowering and the car feels nice to throw around, but I'm not sure I trust that they properly dialed in the settings I asked for. beggars can't be choosersNot a great experience - when I went to collect, they said the printer for the wheel alignment sheet was out of ink and they had only recorded one set of wheel alignments. They insisted it had been done and I took them at their word as I had to get back for work.
I forgot about it then, until the feedback questionnaire came in around the service I received and I did leave honest feedback but never heard back from them.
I've barely driven the car this year so can't give feedback about the tyres.
I recently made a few enquiries regarding having my OEM wheels refurbished in Monaco Copper (as referenced above):Excellent! After numerous hours of ‘research’, my current thinking is getting them done in (Prismatic’s) Monaco Copper, which has the appearance of tarnished brass. It could all change by April though:

Just watched the tyre reviews video about those. We have the Cross Climate 2 on our Kia Sorento and have been impressed with them, but that's because it's a big SUV with no sporting pretentions or even a hint of dynamic handling. But if they've made such a capable tyre genuinely sporty and precise while still being capable all winter, I'd certainly be interested.Interesting to see a sport version coming for the new Michelin CrossClimate 3. Typical, I just got got the 2 a few months back. Bought a camera recently and they just announced the new version of that too! Jinxed so I am.
