Maybe fate is trying to push me in a certain direction? Today I received an email from Alpine regarding the forthcoming A110GTS/A110R70 (and the subsequent demise of the ICE versions):"Will everyone stopgetting shotbuying Alpines?"

I remember reading that edition of Evo with a little pride. After just over two month of A110 ownership I still agree, the GR86 is a better sports car. By that I mean if I was going for a spirited drive on an empty and dry B road, for no other purpose than enjoying the drive, I would want to be in a GR86, more than anything else I have ever driven I thinkSomewhat awkward..... "But it’s not the best sports car here, and by that I don’t mean ‘not the best sports car for the money’. I mean not the best sports car, full stop. Because that car is the GR86."

Toyota has revamped its entry-level sports coupe to create the GR86, but how does it stack up against Mazda’s evergreen MX-5 and Alpine’s formidable A110 when it comes to delivering pure driving fun?www.evo.co.uk
