The k-system brackets don't fit the MK3 rs calipers without a little bit of trimming. They also only fit the standard size discs not the larger 325mm discs.

It's a complete kit, calipers included - MK2 version I guess - so no trimming needed.

I used to track my old GT86 with powder coated OEM calipers, decent street&track rotors/pads/fluid/lines. That setup was decent in terms of performance (enough for 2-3 hot laps @2 minutes each), but the paint slowly turned black (from red) and the rotors cracked easily. Adding additional cooling (by retrofitting porsche gt3 air ducts) solved the cracking issue but not the paint problem.

With the ksystem kit I hope to solve the paint issue as well. I'll install the same porsche air ducts on my GR86 too, so rotor cracking should not be an issue. These calipers are also lighter than the OEM (2.3kg for just the caliper vs 3.6kg for OEM - not sure if 3.6kg include the adapter and bolts or not, but I'll weigh everything myself and report back here).

I'm in discussions with Martin @Reyland to make me some 2 piece rotors to work with this kit. They are selling a 295x25mm rotor already, so just the hats needs to be manufactured. This would reduce the rotor weight as well.

If all goes well, I should have a good looking, lightweight (not that big) BBK with just enough thermal capacity for my needs. Also with almost no bias change and a decent price :cool:

No, the Godspeed kit uses the Clio brembo, not the Megane Brembo. The Megane Brembo uses the same pad as the PP/STi, which is larger than the clio pad - the Megane Brembo its basically identical in spec to a PP caliper, without the molded mounting points - hence the need for a mounting bracket.

A quick note/heads on the Reyland CP9200 kit. When I trial fitted everything the disc was not quite central in the caliper by the same amount on both sides. It was ~0.5mm too close on the inside of each caliper.

I managed to get some precision shims of the correct size (0.5mm thick, 25mm diameter) delivered next day and they make it bang on with everything torqued up. The pads and shims I went for (EBC RP-1 and their titanium shims) are very snug out of the box and would not have fitted properly otherwise. I can turn the rotors by hand via the studs now.

I ordered the shims from accu.co.uk, expensive but fast and more trustworthy than an eBay or Amazon random.

I'm not sure if this is just manufacturing tolerances or if the new car is slightly different but the fact it was identical on both sides suggests it's not random variation.

After some positive chats with Ian from Godspeed over the past day or two, there is now a new option on their website. A kit matching that available on Freaky Parts, as kindly shared by @Will300, but with a better standard disc and pad option, the option for changing caliper colour, and several other upgrades available.

The only real difference is, this kit comes with a 330mm discs, rather than the 325mm disc offered in the Freaky Parts kit. Still a simple disc to get hold of though, and Godspeed discs are of a really nice quality.

Pricing the two kits up:
  • Freaky Parts kit is £950 (less £80 without discs)
  • Godspeed discs are £150 extra
  • Upgraded pads are £150ish
To get the Freaky Parts kit up to the same standard as the Godspeed kit, the pricing is very similar.

I am personally going to be ordering this kit, partly because Ian has been extremely helpful getting the kit onto the site, sending me loads of information on it, finding out colour availability for my yellow preference etc., partly because it's less hassle to just get it all from one place.

You guys are obviously free to decide for yourselves, but at least there's now another good option!

Looks like a good value option and probably not wildly different to the Reyland kit in terms of outright performance/durability. Do the Godspeed disks have directional vanes?

Yes they do mate, at least as far as I can tell.

Ian has described them as "race vaned" discs, which I took to assume meant directional. From the photos of the discs on their website, they certainly appear to be also.

Oh that's worth waiting for. I did ask him if he could offer any discounts or anything and I'd be happy to share in here, but that's good to know!

I will also delay my order til next week in that case.

If I might add few cents, go for the stainless braided break lines. If you are already hassling with the calipers, it’s no brainer to also swap them as well for something that will last pretty much forever.

Any recommendations for ones that would suit (the Godspeed kit)?
 
I have contacted the various eBay outlets of those cheap STi Brembo knock offs to see if they can source 40mm versions as the ones they list are the staggered pistons type for the Impreza. Most likely will say no but you never know.

There DBA calipers, they don't currently do a dual 40mm piston version.

Yeah they got back to me and said they do not do them. Maybe I will contact DBA direct. It shouldn't be hard for them considering the Impreza ones are exactly the same bar piston sizes.

I would expect they would get a lot of business their way.
