GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

Did they say the book will open this month? I thought it was pricing, spec and how the process will work?

No, total guess work on my part.

Thinking back to 2020 the Mk1 was announced December/Jan, then orders started in March.

My order went on the system 13-3-20 as soon as the book opened.

I think we'll hear something early next week, so no doubt they'll now release news later today. :ROFLMAO:

From what I can see, the official UK Toyota price list is currently offline for all models, this could be normal and happens often, or could be because they are waiting to announce pricing for something first. They've also just launched the revamped normal Yaris lineup this week which may have pushed back pricing and ordering info.

Still a headscratcher for me if it's confirmed to be online orders only, with 60 dealers having demos but they can't sell you the car direct. 🤷‍♂️

Selling on line is the latest way. Buying an Ineos Grenadier is just the same. The dealers have a demo model and you collect from the dealer but you buy direct from Ineos

Belgium may have sold out but France doesn't seem to have a problem, you can still order on their website, but maybe with their tax probably not many takers, they will possibly ship a few extra to Belgium!

I don't see French tax being an issue if you pay it when register it to country -> no issue if registered somewhere else (IIRC)

Pretty sure France will only sell for pure tracktoys or export to other countries. Nobody will pay 100k for this car.

Wow... Could you explain how the order process works? How did you know when it was available for purchase?
I contacted multiple dealers months ago to ask if they had some kind of waiting list.
Only 1 replied with "no, but I do follow the rumours closely"

I explained I wanted to buy one as a replacement for my (crashed) Porsche, and he said he was going to keep me up-to-date.
Sunday evening he mailed me that orders would open on tuesday and he gave me all the documentation. I sent him the details of my order.
Tuesday he sent me that apparently orders would only open on Wednesday. Wednesday 8:15 he sent me my order and 9:20 he sent me an email that they we're sold out :P So technically it was the normal order process, but because of the limited production you have to be véry fast.

In Belgium they sold out in about 1hr. So anyone thinking "I'll go to the dealer on the releaseday", you will be to late.
Happened with the GR86 in the UK a few members of here saying their local dealer was putting in the order for them. Those dealers probably not expecting the rush or with a few orders to place failed to get them all in.

Or members saying they wanted to test drive first despite being a refundable deposit, again missed out on a car.

I've just been watching several reviews on different performance cars, in a lot of cases, the comment of, 'if only this came with a manual box, it would be perfect', makes me wonder even more if the Auto isn't really the way to go? Hmmmmm

All depends on personal taste, also reviewers knowing their audience which for petrolheads you’re not allowed to like high seating, automatics and EV’s even if they’re good.

Personally I find the worst bit about driving (other than others on the road) is changing gear, I get no satisfaction from it, I don’t pull up after a drive and have a few high fives and fist pumps about how good the gear changes were.
