GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

I had the I/C nozzles replaced under warranty today, all three were stuck open due to deposits accumulating inside them, they strongly advised using only distilled water, the user manual doesn't say anything specific about a certain type of water, it just says "water only", same on the water tank lid so I don't think I did anything wrong, it's probably why they approved it under warranty. I don't use it that much tough so it won't be a big deal putting distilled water in there, it's a gadget for road use really, I only used it 2-3 times to prevent heat soaking at red lights, in 30°C plus outside temps, in Belgium it's not a common occurrence lol.

Not cheap though if you're going through the dealer with no warranty, as the front bumper has to come off.

I’ve always used distilled for fear of this but never actually use it 🤣

I still have not used mine :ROFLMAO: Never had a chance to go into "damn we need to cool down fast" territory, plus with winter coming I will not definitely use it for another6 months.

Overheating at the traffic light?!?! At most I saw 98 degrees then the fan kicks in fast and lowers it… anyway I don't use it much either and in my opinion the tank doesn't last long enough
Not overheating, heat soak in the engine bay which impacts IAT, and the I/C spray helps with that.

That's why I'm always breathing in the neck of the mechanic😁🤣. And always ask for the empty bottle of oil at the end of the operation. I Will do mine soon as I reach 3k KM even if they told me to do the first oil change at 5k KM, and probably get my own bottle of Ravenol 0#20 to the dealer. Don't forget that the customer is king!
They're putting something in my tank that I'm not entirely sure about: 0W-20 API SP oil for GR Supra... looking around, it says API SP RC... but that RC is only for resource conserving... which seems to indicate fuel economy and easy disposal?!?!... For the rest, it should be fine? I'm not interested in fuel economy or anything else... I just want the engine to be properly lubricated.

Has anyone replaced the pollen filter? Does anyone know why there should be a filter case but mine doesn't? Did they forget it in the shop? Or should it not be there? Does anyone care to look? It's simple.

Anyone have any experience with the Adaptive Assistance Control module from b-tech? It's a module to easily switch off ISA (but keeping speed limit signs enabled) and, if desired, other assistance systems with the cancel button on the steering wheel. Also possible with memory function to have systems switched off permanently. It's not cheap, but would save me a lot of irritation by switching systems off at a push of a button instead of going through menus.

It could also disable the fast blinking of the hazards under hard braking, which I find an interesting extra.

Wondering if anyone here has installed one and if any good? I guess it can't really go wrong.

On the other UK forum the developer was getting someone to test it so there is more discussion.

I’ve installed it since 2 months (in my FL) and wouldn’t want to drive mine without it. Finally, what I call FAFOFUM: “Freude am Fahren Ohne F…ing Uschis Müll” (translates to “Sheer driving pleasure without Uschi von-der-Leyens BS”) This EU crap is so annoying, it’s just another step to mankind’s idiocracy.

Well, b-tech came up with a smart solution, can be installed in less than an hour for the mid-talented user. Works as advertised, finally no 30 sec pit-stop with the necessary 20 button procedure every time one uses the car.

The company is in Switzerland, probably why it’s more popular still in the German speaking area / forum, see here: https://gr-forum.com/t/modul-um-assistenzsysteme-zu-deaktivieren/4139

But, again: well worth every penny. BUT: also know that additional tariffs might apply, depending where you are, this stuff comes from Switzerland.

I have it and it is amazing! Easy install and so quick and easy to get the ISA and lane assist off. I strongly recommend it. BTW, it also disables the beeping from the handbrake during the first 5 seconds of engaging it.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I was surprised I could not find anything about this module here yet. Good to know some of you have one installed and like it!

@Norbi , thanks for the info and link. Good to dust off my German a bit :D

I'll get one for sure as well, even with import duties it's still worth it for me. 💸

I wanted to share a trick that I read somewhere here a while ago on mk1 but that also works on ours... to dissipate the heat more quickly when we stop after sporty driving or I used it in the summer before turning it off to avoid too much heat remaining there when you turn it off... I stop, I put the air conditioning on HI and fans at maximum..., so the radiator water circulates to heat and the fans remove heat... in a few seconds the water loses 3-4 degrees and I see that after I turned it off, it doesn't rise that much... one summer day (36 degrees) I turned off the car... after 5-10 minutes I just turned on the ignition and it was at 110... doing that little trick I told you it never went above 102 when off... maybe it doesn't change anything to the engine, but I like to do it to speed up the heat dissipation...

I spoke with the developer and asked if they could make a module without microswitches, except that from the car menu you choose what to deactivate and it remembers... instead this way you deactivate and activate everything chosen before... I don't like the handbrake one, but I really like the one with the braking indicators.

Wait, what?! Now I have to get this thing! All that EU crap doesn't really bother me – I've learned to ignore all those speed limit beeps and I just don't hear them anymore, but that handbrake warning is seriously annoying when you’re trying to have some fun in winter...
