GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

FYI for anyone that’s interested in the UK allocation I’ve just been called by Toyota UK suggesting I’ve been successful on the ballot and that I can now place an order for a new Yaris, apparently its not a cancelled order or a failed ballot it’s brand new allocation they’ve been given. I have to inform them by Friday midday if I want to go ahead. Delivery would be expected in November they said.
I would definitely have a MK2! Fingers crossed I get a phone call.....

Since being initially told I was unsuccessful I’ve been looking at an M4 CS as fancy a change. If I get a call offering me an auto GR I’ll be so conflicted. PS don’t hate me, I’ve buggered up my knee so struggle a bit in stop / start traffic

I've got a back injury which means I get knee ache after an hour or so in the manual..so no hate here!!

So my order has gone from originally being early November to Late October and today it’s gone to XXXX

Anyone else had the same 😂

My order is still in the same status as it was from day one in toyota app: "Order received". Delivery ETA claimed by the dealer and bound by the purchase contract is late October. But I suspect it will be delayed too.

New orders from today in the UK are being advised delivery is expected December/January.

New orders from today? Is there a new allocation slot for those of us that missed out on the initial ballot?
There was mention that some who were unsuccessful on the ballot have been called this week with some more cars available rather than cancellations.

I wonder if it is tied to the new ZEV mandate, and if they do better on EV sales (bZ4X) can they bring more in without taking the financial hit?

I contacted Toyota on line yesterday regarding the mk2 Gr Yaris and they said new orders were for January 2025.I mentioned that I heard they may be a supply coming in the next month, but they would not confirm this.

Got email today advising my car will be finished this week. Phoned Toyota to enquire what colour and spec my car will be , as I havnt driven one, saw one or even given the colour. I was advised that I had hinted that I may like an auto in white, so that's what has been built !! Well as this is an expensive wee car , I kinda want it right..result being someone else is getting " mine " and they are going to try and get me another slot....I'm not desperately in a hurry, but Toyota GB's organisation leaves something to be desired

Did you not complete the online forms that requested that information I had to do an initial one then one with the deposit both times asking specifically and colour and had to be done in a week.

In order to generate a build order don’t you have to lock in your spec? Surely that’s what the price quoted at time of order shows as well on your paperwork?

Yes it seems Toyota UK have had extra allocation which they wasn’t expecting and calling round suggesting people have been successful in the ballot. I had this on Monday 12th was advised I’d need to confirm if I’d still like my slot by midday today (Friday 16th) and pay a £1000 deposit within 48hrs of confirmation to secure my slot, once that is done I’ll receive a further email within 4 working days, which they actually sent the same day I was then sent a specific link to spec and submit my order but this must be done by 30th of August to guarantee my slot, no further payment required until nearer hand over. If I don’t complete by the 30th then I’ll automatically receive my deposit back and I’ll be removed from the waiting list.

I did also ask some questions about the UK spec as it didn’t seem that clear to me from the previous information shared.

Not sure if it’s been covered already.

I didn’t see anywhere mentioned in the specs that we would get the Forged alloys as standard thought it was strange but they confirmed they are.

We don’t get an option for red seat belts. Just standard.

This one I think was obvious from the previous model but definitely no heated seats or steering wheel.

Intercooler spray feature is confirmed.

JBL sound system isn’t an option for UK.

I find it odd that some countries get to spec certain things but others don’t. I know it’s decided by the respected head offices but just find it strange when they’re all built in the same factory.
