GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

based on this video not very sure if mk2 suspension is all that much better than mk1 - seems to have similar built in issues as mk1 so requires likely similar updates to make it work.

please challenge, having bad weeks in general

The demo GRโ€™s are available to test drive even if they donโ€™t have stock or the customer does not have an order.
How does that work, I thought the dealership own the car for 18 months so is it not up to them to decide if they will let someone test drive the car?

I was told I could test drive one and then told I couldnโ€™t as I did not have an order. Asked them if this was the dealer or Toyota policy and did not get an answer.
Contacted Toyota GB for clarification and was told that โ€˜ any customer should be able to drive a demo vehicleโ€™
Had a call back from the dealer who arranged a test drive.

For past two days we have really nice weather here so I started to push the car little bit more... but I have really funny alert (not sure how to call it, considering its not a fault message) which popped up twice. During slightly spirited driving my Gen 2 casually asks me this:

I assume it has to be behind some safety assist which analyzes steering inputs :ROFLMAO: Its really funny having a blast on empty B road and car just casually hints you to chill the f out.

Thatโ€™s a feature, not a bug:
Japanese mistaken translation for:

โ€œDonโ€™t you think itโ€™s time to hit the breaks, like, NOW?!?โ€

I was trying to get a test drive of a manual Mk2 at the end of last year before the recent release of 100 odd cars in the UK. No chance as they were only allowing test drives if you had ordered one - full Catch 22... They were deliberately keeping the mileage off for selling later on confirmed by another dealer. So good on you for pushing Toyota GB and getting a test drive!

I also get it from the dealers point of view. They own the car and will have to sell it so keeping miles down is beneficial. Why let joy rides when it wonโ€™t get them a sale?

After having a look around @Armijs Mk2, I noticed the rear gas lift struts are different on the rear hatch on a MK2. They are stronger and take more force to pull down and shut.. one thing that annoys me on my MK1 is the slamming of the hatch with the weak struts, has anyone with a MK1 yet upgraded?

Is this not to account for the rear light bar which is heavier?

This article is from Top Gear, and it came along with a similar announcement by Toyota Europe in its Newsroom newsletter update I received a few minutes ago.
Toyota Europe newsletter doesn't go beyond describing the Aero Package for the GRY, hence by now not hinting at if or when it could be made available in Europe, but the fact that now they are at least talking about it, could be a good sign, who knows?
Having also the vertical handbrake included in it, I could actually be tempted by buying an Aero Package, if it would ever become available on our markets.
My poor wallet... ๐Ÿ˜ฐ
