It might be quite easy to experiment with the headlight sensitivity settings by hovering your hand over the light sensor to get it to trigger the lights (mine comes on just going under a local large bridge every sodding time!)

Just want to say, being able to roll the windows up/down from the fob is a fantastic feature in this weather.
Best thing about the car, you can keep your lightweight, RWD, manual gearbox, fun car stuff - I'm having fun nonchalantly rolling my windows down as I walk toward the car so my air con isn't having to work as hard straight away :D

How many times do we have to cover this, it's impossible to code! 🤣😭🤣

Just managed to connect the cable to the OBD port, went through a few settings but thought i had best check the screenshots provided before i actually make any changes.. my question is.. how do you disconnect the ODB cable once finished,, i just cant get it to come out.. just yank at it? on my Fiesta you have to push the side to get it out but on this a can't get my fingers in the gap to feel the side to see if this is the same.. i should have checked before i connected.. TIA.

After reading through this thread I hopped across to eBay and bought the Techstream/OBD bundle for future use. Then when I went looking for it, I realised I’d sold my old laptop about 3 years ago (doh!). So a quick £129 later and my brand new HP Windows 11 laptop (in ghastly blue) is arriving today. At least I’ll now have a bigger viewing screen than on my iPhone for any lonely nights in a Travelodge watching ‘special interest’ movies 🍿. … and for Techstream of course!
[As Techstream works across all models, maybe we should have a dedicated Techstream thread in the General Area for hints/tips, how-to etc.?]

OBD plugs don't normally latch in, just pull to remove.
However what can happen is that because the socket typically just clips into a panel, it can become dislodged or misaligned, making plug removal difficult.

So I managed it, it was a pain in the arse tho. There is a clip but it’s on the door side and almost impossible to see/ get to. I had to remove the side plastic panel, then pull out the plastic dash so I could get to the clip.

I’ll try and get a pic so others are aware

Did you get a pic of the clip? Does it latch into the bottom of the plug as there is a square cut-out there? I’ve just got mine through the mail and am busy installing on my new laptop …

i havnt but i can later. So imagine its in the car like the image and the shorter side is facing the door.. the obd 'clip' gets stuck in the hole shown, well for me anyway and there's no way i can unclip it without using a screwdriver.

Difficult to explain without a proper pic.

Neither of my OBD tools have a cutout like that, so there's no chance they will latch.
I'd be tempted to just snip out the front piece like on this Delphi brand connector:

Yeah, I was gonna snip the front off. Still waiting for a response from the eBay seller wrt my Registration Key. Software is useless without it …
Took some fiddling with Windows A/V getting the VIM driver installed as the rar file flagged up with two pieces of Ransomware within the driver install executable (Bitdefender wouldn’t let it go, so I had to uninstall that first). Even then the drivers didn’t install properly and I had to do it manually via Device Manager. Serious PITA to install!

Took about a day for me.. i emailed the work email address initially but i wouldn't bother as it wasn't working for him at the time so i went through ebay instead.

I bought Techstream from AliExpress, it came with a cd that has v18, they can also send a link to download. Just tested it by changing the locking on the doors, all worked fine, if you are happy to wait 3 or so weeks for it to arrive.

Clip can be see here . Had to use a flat screwdriver to leaver the top part away and then it unclips. The side plastic cover is easy to remove using plastic trim kit and the dash is just held with a single screw (the adhesive had dried and was doing fa)

Crikey, what a PITA! I've already snipped that centre piece out and filed the edges to (hopefully) avoid this issue.

I've got the same lead with the bit that looks like it should clip on, but I was able to just unplug it without having to unclip anything. Took a bit of effort, granted.

What option did you select on AliExpress? I ordered what I thought was the correct cable and got something completely different, and no software!

Does this look right?

This is the one I ordered.
I wasn't expecting it to come with the cd. Before it arrived I messaged and asked for the link to the download and they sent it through.
