It all depends on what your appetite for risk is and what threshold you take on using your warranty. For me I find minor issues and niggles as something I’d rather address, rather than risk poor workmanship, the inconvenience of being without the car for an extended period along with the potential risk of getting your car damaged (which happens all too frequently).
Fortunately the additional warranty doesn’t require consecutive servicing for it to apply, so you can pick it up and drop when you please.
Its a bit of a bonus anyway as a lot of manufacturers only have a standard warranty period of 3 years. I feel pretty confident, I had my GT86 for 8 years and apart from a new battery didn’t need to replace anything under warranty.
