I’m taking the ‘old gal’ in for 4 new tyres (Conti SportContact 7s) in the morning, 4 wheel tracking and also its second MOT. I can’t believe I’ve owned it for 4 years, crazy. Anyway, I’m being a bit retarded but I’ve done a few searches on here and Google but can’t seem to find the standard...

On the morning commute, saw it in the distance and instantly knew it was a Mk 2 due to the grey colour. Looks great on the road. Gave the obligatory thumbs up as I went past, owner looked a bit grumpy - this along with the fact it was in the ‘slow’ lane made me think it’s still chewing through...

Adaptive cruise works just fine in track mode, on mine anyway (arrived in the UK June 2021). Apparently, the main reason for ‘track mode’ being the 50/50 split is to not overheat the rear differential during track driving. Sport mode creates more heat, which makes sense when you think about it...

The correct answer is of course that you need both in your life/garage. 😁 Always happy to help with these life decisions.

As I recently wrote on the ‘today’ thread, FRF Swansea are using the correct spec oil. I wasn’t that impressed with them at first but their customer service is really good now.

I haven’t rotated them yet. I was going to at the last service but they’re all wearing by a similar amount, and in the same way. I would have thought excessive negative camber would cause this wear, but toe out along with some camber will scrub the tyres too I guess.

We managed to survive the power cut in our village over the weekend but my colleague is in Longford/Neath and she is one of the 10,000 homes that have had no power for three days. She phoned me to say her power was back on at the precise moment that mine went off, it was only for a few minutes...

I drove to work last week and was the first car up my frosty unsalted road in the morning. Great fun. This car is so capable and predictable on slippery stuff, as long as you turn the ESC fully off as that spoils all the fun. Then I hit the M4. Fun = over. I don’t know what I could ever replace...

I just noticed on those ebay ad pictures that it has a GR embroidered logo on the boot mat! Is this included in the price?! No seriously, this is the first thing, other than the power hike, I want from the Mk 2.

You’re both OK, raspberries get a pass on autos. As soon as you’re better though, get it sold pronto.

Sorry I didn’t manage to get a photo of the Civic Type R for some of our members who don’t like the GR Yaris. I was halfway through the panoramic shot (as I wanted to get the whole car in) and my phone battery died.

Just got back from an excellent day in the sunshine at GFoS. I was very pleased to find lots of GR Yaris in attendance, including all the new models, rally cars, rally drivers and even the H2 hydrogen concept car. Here are some snaps from the day.
