GR Yaris The GR Yaris MOT Thread

Where did you get it done? I’m planning to take mine to FRF Swansea next month so they can do my 6 month safety check at the same time. I can’t believe I’ve owned it for almost three years.

GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Awesome. It does 0-60 in 2.3 s. Was the driver asleep, or was it being towed by an AA truck?

    GR Yaris Fuel Range

Even with some serious hypermiling and draughting lorries I doubt you will see 360 miles. You’ll certainly be running on fumes for the last part if you do. 50 litres (11 gallons) should do 360 miles as that’s only 33 mpg, but I rarely get near 300 miles before the fuel light comes on, normally...

GR Yaris Hit and run :(

I actually used this incident as an example of how the country/world is going to the dogs. I believe it was to do with the recent hate crime laws introduced in Scotland. If you get burgled or your car stolen or vandalised don’t bother phoning the police just tweet something about old codgers and...

GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

I was just reading through this thread this morning which obviously has centred around the significant uplift in cost of the mk 2 since the announcement, and remembered back to 2020 when Pistonheads was apoplectic about a ‘£30,000 Yaris!?!?!!!111111’ It just makes me feel a little bit smug now...

GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

I think the loss leading idea came about due to the huge development cost that the GR Yaris has had, but this was for the WRC program, which are always at a loss on paper. What is harder to quantify is the extra sales gained from the motorsport brand building. Anyway, I don’t think there was a...

GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

Hmmm, it’s the same on the UK site. It would be interesting to send 280 bhp to just the front wheels, but shouldn’t be too much trouble. The Civic Type-R copes with 80bhp on top of that. It would be great fun to experiment with sending 100% torque from front all the way to rear whilst lapping...

GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Used it for the commute for the first time at my new job today. Chuffed to find out work has secure underground parking, with designated spaces. So if anyone dings it I know who it was! I was also reminded what a terrific hurry early morning commuters seem to be in!

What’s your daily driver? (If your GR is your weekend toy)?

Not a bad commute you have there. Perfect for the GR in fact.

GR Yaris Chris Harris - Llandow laps - GR Yaris

Awesome video. My mate built an FIA '63 Cooper S and it was great fun. He works for Singer now, the bastard. The Mini wasn't a hatchback though. It has a boot. And it used to race as a saloon car. But that's being pedantic.

    GR Yaris GRY Mk3?

I read today that Hotpoint Hyundai have stopped producing the i20 and i30 N models. Toyota are obviously a bit less milk-floaty than Hyundai but I'd be very surprised if there was a Mk 3 petrol GRY. But then I was one of the Mk 2 unbelievers, so who knows?

GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Well, you’re an inspiration. Exactly the same age as my Dad and he drives a diesel Mercedes, that he loves for some reason, despite owning and dreaming of owning some much more exciting machinery. You clearly never lost your way 😂

GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Oh my god how old are you seriously? My mother was driving minis in her platforms and I’m an old c**t as it is.

Carwow buys EVO Magazine and Auto Express

This, just like Amazon Prime introducing ads to a paid streaming service, is why everyone can just go f**k themselves.

GR Yaris GR Yaris (Mk1&MK2) Valuation

It's funny to think that my French car, the 172 Cup, which cost £12,995 brand new would today have a 60,000 EUR tax levied on it. They're a funny lot the French, always rioting and protesting, but they routinely accept more shit from their government than anyone on Earth. Save for maybe the...

GR Yaris GR Yaris (Mk1&MK2) Valuation

I wish I'd kept my 205 GTi. And my Clio Trophy. And my DC-2 Integra Type-R. And my Lotus Elan Sprint. In fact I've never owned a car that isn't worth more now than when I bought it, or when new in most cases. Very difficult to predict the GR Yaris residuals as they made so many of them. But the...

GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

It's the passenger seat that's the issue as it's not height adjustable and the engineers decided to go past 10 and set it to giraffe feeding tennis umpire height, but seeing as how I never sit there it's not really an issue at all. If I sat in the passenger seat more, I might be tempted by the...

GR Yaris Evo magazine & Toyota Press fleet

It was slightly annoying the previous two times they've reviewed the car that they used a non circuit pack, but to do it for a hot hatch track test is just stupid. All the other cars will be on Michelin PS4S tyres or equivalent, so it'll be disadvantaged. Why hamstring it by finding a version...

GR Yaris (Gen 2) Intelligent Speed Assist / ISA

I just read the article on ISA, it looks like despite leaving the EU some time ago the UK will be forced to adopt the regulation by pressure from the car manufacturers themselves. They don’t want to build different versions of Euro market cars just for the UK so the cars will come with all the...

GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

@kinboshi It looks to me that may have included at least some of the convenience pack items into this ‘Circuit pack as standard’ spec. You can see the front parking sensors over the new side vents. I have to say that the new front end is growing on me (still would have preferred that line...
