GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

I think most EU countries will start preorders next week, I have heard some rumors about preorders starting in my country aswell next week.

this is great by the Swiss, first country to actually give some factual information from changes and specs. Must cover a few questions previously asked on here. Particularly like their wording with regards the special editions.

No more fake sound. But surely the mk1 got Torsen LSDs in Switserland?

@Phil1291 this was super helpful, thx! Especially the charts with the old vs new changes.

So this is how Toyota CH awards the Special editions: (translated)

“According to the wishes of the two rally legends and the chief engineer Saito-san, the Vehicles (shall) reach driving enthusiasts and not "dust" in private collections. Due to the very great interest and the strong limitation
(5 Ogier Edition, 5 Rovanperä for Switzerland),
we have decided to carry out an application procedure.

The most important key data are:
Start: 15. April 2024, online via our website
Duration: 15. April - 31. May 2024
Decision: Approx. mid-June 2024 In case of an allocation: direct notification from Toyota AG

Conditions of participation:
- Natural person residing in Switzerland / Principality of Liechtenstein
- Completed 18. Year of life, in possession of a cat. B driver's license - Important: The applicant must have a GR Yaris MC24 with a Toyota representative in Switzerland / in the Principality of Liechtenstein in order
- Only one application is possible per person
- Toyota partners and employees are also approved

Must criterion order GR Yaris MC24: Applicants must have ordered a GR Yaris MC24 from a Toyota partner in order to be approved for the application process. We have decided that in the event of a surcharge for a special edition, the customer can either withdraw from the current GR Yaris contract free of charge or buy both vehicles. Due to the announcement approx. In mid-June, there is enough time for the administration so that you do not incur any additional expenses”

PS: @Phil1291 I’d even vote that the people with the most points on this site get extra priority. Talk about driving enthusiasts… You’d be #1 in Switzerland, correct? 🤞
Yeah, i‘d like that extra priority, because i‘m gonna apply for a Special Edition for sure. 😁
This is gonna be a future 22B or something similar exclusive.

On the other hand, if i get a special edition, i can‘t modify it…
Or at least i hope i have the brains to not do it.
Maybe… 🙈

With prices now slowly being released, are we expecting the UK to only offer one option? Apart from auto/manual/specials. As conversion rate looks like we’re already the most expensive? In Swiss without a choice of paint their full package converts to around £43.3k in manual. France converts to just shy of £43k not including government emissions tax. Surely it’s not going to be another £3-4k for options is it? One price at £44k plus paint option?

True about the Swiss VAT rate, but for some obscure reason, everything else is still more expensive in Switzerland, right?
And don’t even start talking about speeding tickets there, hell, no!

They strip you naked and pull you up on the highest city poll for everyone to see!
Yes, sure you are totally right about the overall cost of life.
But when it comes to our beloved cars (except for tickets), insurance and taxes (and prices for our GRYs) are much much lower than in Italy.
Luckily I never got a ticket when I was living in Switzerland (and I was driving a GT-R R35 😰 at that time, very hard task keeping it under the speed limits) so I haven't tasted the pleasure of gazing a Swiss city from the highest poll, but I can't 100% exclude it could be a widespread side-punishment there... 😅

not entirely sure how it works in Portugal but looks like they have pre-orders available. Not sure what PVP means but looks to be pretty expensive. With not too many options. Manual seems to be pre determined in white and Auto in grey?

Edit: looks like PVP is equivalent to RRP

Most excited about "first cars will be delivered in July" actually :D
I think this is including demonstrators as it also says there will be enough time between special editions being allocated in June to amend an order for delivery, I’d expect it to be a similar timeline to the UK demonstrators arrive in June/July, first customer deliveries August onwards. (Unless Switzerland decide against demonstrators and send them straight to customers). 🤷🏼‍♂️

I don't see any sense in getting demonstrators when you sell out the car in few days anyways. I know my country wont get any demonstrators, but that's quite normal here.
You'll still be able to order one. They're not limited in numbers.
