GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

The Quickfit Pro picks up one of the rear points and a new one at the base of that belt. Designed to allow the driver to pivot in a crash much like a lap sash belt to stop submarining. I went for this rather than the single high point. Can use the Hans device as well.

Hi there, love that set-up. Where did you purchase that harness ? How is the lap belt secured at the base of behind the seat. Clamped with the original bolt ? Any chance to see a few pics of the securing points please ?
Have GReat day down-under !

Met with two mates and went to dyno.

Power related mods are HJS downpipe, Eventuri intake, Forge turbo inlet and DTUK Stage2 (1/+2). Not bad result 306HP, 412Nm. Guess 1/+3 would give few extra ponies.

Took a nice photo with broken speed camera.

I bought the harness from the US but they are easily found in the EU and UK. I would have bought from anywhere but it came down to shipped price and the US supplier found a (much) cheaper shipping option.

I didn't take any other photos and we are about to head west for a week off grid camping. I can do some pics of the mounting when I get back but very simply the two bolted in sections use the existing front and rear belt anchoring points. Factory bolts are long enough but I had two that were about 5mm longer and used them. Front is easy, move the trim, undo the bolt and fit the harness strap and tighten to spec. Rear needs the rear seat squab removed then the same process and seat back in. Which was a pain, tight access and tight fitments but no issue really.

This is the relevant bit in my build thread including part numbers if you want to do something. Bear in mind that is driver's side for rhd.

In Sweden tyrefitters will store your set for £50 or even less...
Yeah its pretty uncommon here for people to even swap them, especially in the south. There's one place round here that seems to do storage though.

Tire wise, it was patchable! I'll consider it on borrowed time, and it is getting close-ish to the wear markers now anyway

Fun fact though: I think that must have been at least partially wedged in my tire for a couple of days. I noticed a vibration in the car between 20-30mph, which has now disappeared. Surprised such a small screw could have such an effect tbh

It’s the tropical weather we have down here.

My local Toyota dealership offers storage but as the temperature has been mild over the last few winters I’m in no rush to swap. But I do wonder in a proper winter what would be better the Yaris with 4WD and summer tyres or my C1 with all seasons.

For getting places (not getting stuck), possibly the former. For safety the latter.

In for the 6k service. Asked them to check coolant and rotate the tires and save the brillo pad for the next Prius.

C1 with all seasons I reckon. AWD might get you moving, but it's not going going to help with the stopping :)

So I bought gearbox fluid, and differential fluid with a few washers from the stealership... Had a look at the price breakdown
Toyota, at least take me out to dinner first; these washers better be forged in the mountains of Fuji and blessed by Akio Toyoda under the blossom trees

Anyway,

Ordered 200,000kms worth of oil change washers
250,000kms of Transfer Case and Rear Differential washers

90 washers all up for 37 'Strayan Kangaroos, with shipping and tax. Thats is less than what I paid for just one set

drove with normal mode and used auto start stop first time in traffic on purpose.
almost got below 6ltr/100km in city.
That’s impressive. I don’t think I’ve ever seen less than about 9, but then I do drive like a complete sleeve.

I did sort-of-hypermile to Amsterdam and back in the A6 at the weekend though and managed to average 4.9l/100km (57.6mpg, conversion fans) which is pretty good going for such a big bus, and demonstrates almost unprecedented restraint on my part 😂

yes usually here also around 9-11ltr/100km. winter tires seem to be more efficient which is bit strange but what do you know.
seems to go with less on constant speed than cup2, weight is the same with both.

Last year I had an appointment by car in Munich and was 2 hours early. I learned one thing from it. You can drive the car with 5l, behind a truck at 90km/h. 🤣🤣

did a little weight reduction by installing a lightweight battery. the stock battery is slightly over 19kgs
Love the sticker 😂

I take it that's the 20 Ah JDM spec?
