GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

I think a CG lock would be more beneficial and safer if you could find one.

Almost one year on the orange clamp still works fine, obviously pinches the belt but no damage what I can see.

Early morning drive up to RRG from bucks for the service and oil changes, went into town for breakfast and be rude not to have a drive along cat and fiddle.

Fitted a full harness to stop me floating around when on track
Don’t want be disrespectful in any way…just out of curiosity, and only if you don’t mind me asking…

But what is your age?😃

The extension in the shoulder strap is designed to pivot your torso and energise the lap belt and outer shoulder strap so you don’t slide under the lap belt (effectively making it a 3point belt like normal seatbelt).

Technically it might work and if you feel safe that’s the main thing but for me having an offset anchor point makes your neck the fulcrum point in an accident the seat and your body is going to be twisted. The seat doesn’t have harness slots so this set up will cause serious injury IMO. They look very close together so if it tightens it’s your neck and if it widens you fall out of it.

Honestly I wouldn’t use this set up

You are naturally entitled to your opinion and I respect that, but Schroth are one of the leading manufacturers of seat harnesses and they have deemed this to be perfectly safe.

The anchor point should be behind the seat
- if it’s on the C pillar the seat will want to twist or be pulled toward the anchor point in an accident. This will put a lot of force into the seat angle It wasn’t intended for.

This will cause serious injury to your neck as the shoulder straps arent guided, are too close together and not anchored correctly.

It’s not my car and not my business so don’t take this the wrong way but that is a textbook way how NOT to use a harness.
The Quickfit Pro picks up one of the rear points and a new one at the base of that belt. Designed to allow the driver to pivot in a crash much like a lap sash belt to stop submarining. I went for this rather than the single high point. Can use the Hans device as well.

Have you got other cars with radar cruise?
Yes, Volvo V60. I’d say Volvo is about the same.

When I said I’d like it to accelerate faster I meant to react more quickly when the road had cleared.

I only buy new tires:)

sliding from corner to corner.
Any experience with Valino drift tyres, they have a TW420 I saw that might work on my GRY but I want them to work, more or less, on the street and also in the wet...

Got it up on the jack yesterday. Sunshine, perfect day. Took the front right wheel off, took the summer wheels out, got everything ready for a nice 3 hour detailing and wheel swap session. Mixed chemistry, sprayed some tar remover under the wheel well, and brushed some APC on the calipers.

Then as I went to foam the wheel well, the pressure washer died...

Ended up rinsing off the wheel well with the hose, and put the winter wheel back on again... 😭
