Great news - I'm sure you won't regret it!

(I am going to try and avoid my usual approach of attempting to insert U2 song titles into my replies to your posts @Bonovox . Or I suppose I could just slip One in...)
 
I wouldn't be surprised if these are ones that have been ordered but the buyers have backed out. The excitement dies down or people start getting concerned about the RTV/engine oil issues so they decide to cancel and they offer them out to the next on the waiting list.
 
Lightly used 2nd-hand cars are going for as low as £30k (I know, having just missed out on one) so why pay £33k?

Unless you keep missing them, of course.

That will change I expect once word filters out that all the new cars are gone... The prices, based on the generally excellent reviews for the car, will stabilise / solidify I expect

Anybody buying however should do so on the assumption that they will lose money due to normal depreciation but I do think that tidy low mileage standard cars will have good residuals in the first few years

If I'm wrong then hey ho, my risk

How much did that silver one just go for in the end on autotrader? Do you know?

Next June they’ll surely all be sold through inc dealer stock then we’ll be down to a steady state of 1 or 2 for sale if any. With the 10 year warranty too. Can’t see the residuals being less than super strong.

Not sure on that one, maybe the member here whose car it was will comment.

2 red ones have gone for £30k, one with 3k miles, the other with less than 1k miles.

True about RHD, although we're told they're not actually built yet.

I guess some will get cancelled after leaving Japan though, so we could end up with a surplus in the short term.

They might not sell out. But I do think this is their last go at getting orders for the remaining availability of red/white/grey (cars located in Japan - either made or just about to be made. If they don’t sell them all to the UK they will go to other markets). Only UK availability will then be cancelled orders (of which there will be a few).

That way the whole allocation is gone which is surely good news for everybody

Not everybody will be aware that they have a chance to buy and (even at £33k) once somebody who was interested sees one with a for sale sticker they’ll jump straight in IMHO

Why would this be a concern though as any issues with this will be covered by the warranty? Also wasn't there similar issues with the first generations of the GT86? I didn't have any issues with either of my GT86's other than a battery issue on the 2012 model I bought.
