Yup! Chap owns a detailing business, was messed around by TOL with regards to delivery dates and ended up with 2 cars. This has just been at his shop since it arrived and he had to decide whether the GR86 or his new Civic Type R was to go. The GR86 lost out on family practicality. I'm getting him to PPF and Detail it before I have it transported North of the Border - so here's hoping that my dodgy left foot doesnt play too much havoc with me now that I'll have to operate a clutch pedal!

Ask if he can underseal it as well..
That'll be a job for me I reckon. Gives me something to do whilst the car is sitting on the driveway and is an excuse to use the ramps that are taking up too much space in the garage

Perfect, that's a bit of a result. Hopefully you'll be fine with the clutch pedal, whilst in stock form it doesn't have much feel it is very light.

In so much as it has a previous owner, yes. The car was registered in February 23 and has 37 miles on the clock. It never got used and has been garaged at a detailing studio since being transported their from the dealership. The owner is an accredited Gtechniq and Xpel detailer, so we are currently in discussions regarding a full protection package before I have it transported to Scotland in a covered trailer. That means it'll arrive in an immaculate condition and I can put it straight under cover whilst I sort the insurance and do some Techstream fettling. I might Lanoguard the underneath myself over the Winter before I take it on the road for its first service at the dealership 2 miles up the road from me. I'll look to get the wheels and calipers painted next Spring, so I reckon I could reach the 1000 mile run-in marker by the time its second service is due!

I considered that but, 6 hours on various trains (likely with drunk Geordies if past experience repeats), a night in a seedy Premier Inn, 7 hours on the A1 in shite weather and driving an unfamiliar car soon had me coming to my senses. Despite the stated combination of limb affliction and sartorial peculiarities, I am content to spend a few extra pence in order to retain my sanity. However, I have negotiated certain aspects and can look forward to significant savings, even with the not insignificant outlay ... As a 70s crisp advert once exclaimed - "Yer'll no be havin a sale will ye?"

An auto would be a great choice for me as a daily driver, but I couldn't do it! So glad to see you've opted for the manual now
Chuffed to see this. I know you’re fairly local to me too so I’ll be keeping my eyes out, there is already a white one local to us so we have a little collection going!
I seen a comment further up relating to underseal and thought I’d chip in my experience here. When I was comparing the GR to the MX-5, the thing that was swaying me to the GR was the amount of underseal that the car has from factory. Personally. I’d not be in a rush to spray it all under the car. Even on a new MX-5 which are notorious for rusting away. A couple of guys up here had 2020 plate MX’s without underseal and they still looked immaculate. I think it’s maybe something I’d consider 4-5 years into ownership, even then, the car has still be sealed well from factory and early subframe rust along with the usual culprits I don’t think has ever been an issue on the GT86 which has been around a while now.

It depends if they're garaged cars, or used through the winter. If you're driving over gritted roads it's a much bigger deal than if you have a summer weekend garage queen.
