I'm sure they'll do it for you if you ask. All the car's history is online, so it's a bit of a token gesture these days. I still get mine stamped though at every service.

Hi, I didnt get offered the service plan when I bought my 86, given the handover I felt I did well to come away with 2 keys and a car!
Does the service plan include the additional interval items e.g. Covers Oil/Filters, but what about spark plugs, brake fluid and fuel filter? Are those on top of the service plan costs or included?

Hi AndyIt’s worth knowing that as a member of the Toyota Owners Club U.K. you can get 10/15% off servicing and parts at some Toyota dealers who participate. At the moment 2 years membership is only £20 so well worth considering
Just looking for service info now I have the car and came across this. There doesnt look to be any dealer discounts anymore, do you have visibility of any. Know your post was last May, just wondered, at the moment the only benefit looks to be 8% off at Halfords. cheers

Me again - quick question for those who've taken out the service plan, as details are not that clear:
Cost of 3 year plan £1296 - I've asked my dealer this includes the Brake Fluid Change at year 2 and the Air Filter change at year 3 as per the service book schedule.
Cost of 3 services individually booked via Toyota website £1100
So for another £196 are you paying for the additional 2 year break down service? Which as I've cover for all cars on my own policy seems something I dont need?
Just keen to understand from you guys to compare to dealer answer. thanks

I suppose the advantage is that you're locking the price...
So I assume what they've done is look at a time value of money calculation and they've got to around £200 mark...
Which looking at the FED/MPC is probably about right with IR/Inflation.
ie, your £1 now, in 3 years isn't worth the same £1 as it is today... it's worth more like 80-85p, perhaps less depending on inflation levels. Time will tell!

@James-UK That was my guess, (or the extended roadside assistance), would have hoped signing up to a plan like that would give you a bit of a discount. Seen some have locked in a 10 year service plan which is very impressive and that would be worth it if the monthly payments do not have RPI linking and stay fixed for that long!

Got this yesterday regarding the plan. Reading the small print it can be taken any time within 3 month of purchase. I'm going to wait another month as maybe that means I save on the first 2 X £36 payments?

Bumping the thread a bit, as I also had this email. Am I being a bit thick, or is this a pretty silly deal?
£36 per month for 3 years (36 months) = £1296.
That buys me 3x services and an MOT.
I believe the service schedule calls for alternating intermediate and full services, starting with an intermediate. So that would be 2x intermediate services at £315 and 1x full service at £470 - £1100 for three years servicing.
Standard cost of an MOT = £54.85
So the total cost of servicing and MOT for the first three years = £1154.85
So why would I buy a service plan which costs me an extra £141.15 for the same? If I'm tying myself into a service plan, I would expect at least a significant discount over the cost of buying the services individually. What gives?

Yeah. See, I took my GT86 to Abbey Motorsport exclusively; they weren't hugely cheaper than the dealer, they were a bit, but I just got into the habit of going to them. With the new car, I was going to just take it to the dealer for all the servicing as I would need to do that after year 3 and they are only 15 minutes away (vs. a 45 minute drive to Abbey). But if the cost is going to be significantly higher from the dealerships, maybe I might revert to Abbey for the first 3 years after all.
Mine doesn't mention this...it would make it more competitive, but only just barely. I reckon £141 would easily buy you 2 years cover from one of the big names. Hmm.

If you take it in the 3rd month after receiving the car then I think that means you only pay 34 months which makes it £69 for 2 years roadside. Having said that I already have roadside coverage for any car so sticking it into a savings account does seem a better deal

Spoke to the dealer and was told it basically gives you year 2/3 assistance free (which I have covered on a household policy with GEM)
Then said it inflation proofs you - well thats fine, but the costs would have to go up significantly in line with inflation or other terms for you to be better off in 3 years.
Toyota I notice also charges well over £100 for an MOT if they carry it out for you!
The only deal I've seen which looks worthwhile, a few people seem to have got fixed servicing for 10 years which genuinely seems worth it against inflation.
Toyota cannot charge more than £54.85 for an MOT as that is the maximum set by the government.
For anyone considering the £36/m deal, see if your dealer still has access to the 10 year Toyota service plans. They were the same monthly cost and included MOTs when I was looking into it, and the cost worked out to almost exactly the same as getting 5 intermediate, 5 full services and 7 MOTs with Toyota separately, not taking into account any price hikes over the next 10 years. The plan was also cancellable for any unused services with a fixed admin fee of around £35.
I opted in for a dealer network service plan provided by the same company (EMaC) as they managed to set me up on a legacy service plan that was the same cost as the GT86 one, working out at around £27.50/m (with no MOTs included).
