Anyone know the service intervals on the GR86. I just scanned the manual and I couldn’t see it mentioned? Also wondering if it might be different in the UK to the USA, Australia, etc. as countries where it’s already been released will have this information, but I know it can be different from country to country.

I've not managed to find anymore info about service intervals, but having a look around the website, and ending up here https://www.toyota.co.uk/new-cars/gr86/owning-a-gr86 I've found some servicing costs (not that most of us will be worrying about servicing it yet, as the majority have no idea when they're getting their car!):

I wonder if it will be a good idea to get the service plan, considering the potential inflationary increases and essentially spreading the cost over 0% interest monthly payments.
 
That would be £924 over 42mths. You'll probably do 3 services which comes to £690 over the PCP term (if you are). But if you're keeping it long term it may work eventually. I'll just stick it on a 0% card and do it that way. If it goes up it goes up.
 
I saw this mentioned on another forum I visit, in a thread about the GR Yaris and the service plans changing.
Seems a bit unfair really - I am betting that the "Intermediate" service is just an oil change, and I can't see how you can justify the 1.5l 3-cylinder Yaris oil change costing as much as it should for the 3.0l 6-cylinder Supra.

I am hoping that "6 month safety check" isn't mandatory for maintaining the warranty either. I'm not paying £300 for a service and then 6 months later another £75 for someone to kick my tyres and lie about my brake pads, telling me they need replacing when they're actually not even 50% worn (had this happen to me before).

That is a joke.

That is indiscriminate price setting, with no reflection on the true cost it takes to service each type of car. Also the 'relax' aspect of the warranty after just 3 years is classed as an 'additional warranty' where T&Cs can be altered, this tactic is to circumnavigate the Block Exemption Regulation which was put in place to allow fair competition.

I won't be going to a dealer for servicing, no chance.

58% rise for cost intermediate service, 45% rise for full service - in three months.

Sigh.

Another day, another 'update' chipping away at my resolve to wait for and take delivery of this car.
 
So now it's well over a grand in service costs over the term and given the RTV issues, many will want it changed after the first 1000. It's a lot but given my local indy (German specalists) often get a grand a year out of me it almost seems reasonable.

Guess that's more days with sleep for dinner...

It's bloody annoying, but I think I will end up gritting my teeth and just paying it.
I used to service my old car at Abbey Motorsport, but I want to keep the warranty on the new car going for as long as possible, especially with all this talk about the RTV sealant issue. Which means I will be locked into dealer servicing after the first 3 years.
 
Being in South Wales, all the trusted tuners and garages are quite a travel and being VAG for so long I don't know those who deal with Jap, or at least one I'd trust. There's one in my town who messes about with Subaru's but I wouldn't trust him with a wheelbarrow. I just have to hope that for that money it's done properly. Once the 3 years are up and I'll be coming to think about buying it outright, I won't be fussed about warranty or getting a stamp and I'll probably service myself as apart from plugs, these are straightforward.
 
🤬those are starting to look like Merc prices ☹️☹️☹️. All done in the name of keeping things ”simple for the customer” and creating a bit of a piggy bank to fix a load of blown engines 🤷‍♂️
