GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

More driving, the roads around Knockhill today. Can confirm it exits tight gravelly junctions in an appealing manner :)

Today I plugged in my Cowon Plenue hi Def media player, pressed shuffle, and gave my car a quick wash (Poorboy's World Super Slick) with the old two buckets and grit guards approach.

This allowed me to inspect the (dealer prepared) car. I could see no signs of where protective tape/film has been, and they appear to have done a very good job with it.

I can now confirm that two rear dimples are visible below the number plate!

A celebratory photo.

And now a nice cup of tea.

Yes I'm glad you noticed that; it took me ages to get my gear set up and adjust everything and take the perfect shot. And I definitely didn't drop lucky when I casually pointed my phone in the general direction of my car out of an upstairs window!

I took the car out for a short 13 mile journey to my in-laws today and managed to destroy the windscreen in the process.

The little crater was caused by an ordinary stone thrown by a car coming from the opposite direction on a B road. No tailgating or big gritters were involved, just my extraordinary luck.

Insurance is with Admiral, they use Autoglass for windscreen repair service. Excess is £25 for a repair or £115 for a replacement. Any takers on whether this damage is repairable without issues and if Autoglass will have a a replacement windscreen in stock?

@AndyRC do I win a place on the timeline with this? :(

Ouch, sorry to hear about this @beorg - hopefully you can get it sorted as quickly and conveniently as possible.

Definitely repairable - I had one like that on the Focus and it's fine now it's been repaired. It's unfortunate it's right in your eyeline as the repair won't be invisilble.

Another 300 mile trip today. Very planted in awful conditions on the M74.

After four days of rushing about I'll finally get around to looking at the handbook and seeing what what the all the buttons do tomorrow,,,

I’m with @Dal3D on this had something similar on my R and was on the swept area on the right , was noticeable but not in direct sight line. In that position I’d most likely be going for a new screen 🤔

Will do puddle lights and reversing lights over festive period
Which reverse lights did you get mj?

Not sure how bright to go or what LED arrangement to get but want to make life easier for the feeble reverse cam!

The Katur T15 offering has a lens on the top which I don’t think is needed? Link

Got these for the interior, puddle and boot

Got these ones for reverse

Fitted all over the last couple of days. The wee trim remover tool on the interior bulbs is fab and helps with changing all.

We went for a beautiful summers day drive up to the lake this morning, around a 160 km round trip
I haven't driven it much so far in its 2000km life :censored:
I asked my partner what happened when you pushed the sport button in & whether it made much difference ?
Oh yes she said "it revs much harder & goes faster" :giggle:
Sounded like the voice of experience to me, she was right, seems to hold the gears longer before changing & sounds more aggressive, but I haven't turned the artificial engine noise off yet...
Goodness knows where she found that out driving around town all the time :ROFLMAO:
