GR Yaris Roof Rack/ bars

What exactly do you mean with the stud in the shadow pic ?
would be great, if you can test it!

Thought about something like this

These soft roof racks are quite useful but I only saw them on 4 door cars. You have to pull the straps under the roof. So I guess no way to use them on a GRY.

Well researched Mixemaxe. When doing my research I did not find that pdf and secretly
Opened every leg box I could find for Thule and several other brands ! Including a dedicated Roof bar specialist shop who were not impressed and told me if it was not manufacturer approved I was being naughty !! The Carbon roof is not designed for any weight bearing and under the
Plastic by the lip of the roof is not secure . The strength of the side roof curve is where the bar foot needs to be . The clamping force of the Thule is excellent and as I stated when installed with my 80 kg I was unable get any bar movement . The foot rubbers mould to the curve without any mods . Having seen the roof fly off in the rally ( Lappi?) it is there to keep the rain out and does not appear to offer a great deal of structural rigidity unlike the windscreen. The comments about the aero are interesting but unless you have a roof box or surf boards I think my ladders and hardware trips are quite OK . As I said before if you want a truck buy one !

Rally1 GR Yaris is not the same car as our GR Yaris. It looks like it, but it is totally different construction. Maybe if you drive ours without windscreen it can blow off the rear window but I could bet 10€ that roof stays where it is..

my basic plan would be like this!

On the other hand...

Also for 2 doors

so the soft roof racks would not be an option !

Thanks Lanman, I just entered the part numbers consecutively into the Thule search ;-)

I am well aware that the Rally GR is to say the least a special build!! The Carbon roof saves a few kilos but does not appear to be very strong re weight bearing! Lappi was amazing! Or in a big hurry!

I wouldn’t be too happy with the front feet myself…

Looks like it’s making good even contact to distribute the pressure 👍
