Did you get any marks or dents from the foot as another red Yaris did here in the thread ? (after removing)![]()

Exact same setup as Lanman… with a Thule Snowpack L, perfect.
Thanks! Here is what I did. I cut off the edge of the pad so it doesn’t put pressure on the roof anymore, bit too late for me because I got the dents already but as a tip for others, and I will fix the dents in the future also!

maybe the C-HR clamps fit better. have you checked your hood if you got any dents?Hi apologies for resurrecting this thread but I figured was better to keep this in the same place, I also wanted to thank all the contributors above who no doubt saved me a lot of time to zero in on the options that might work
This is what I went with :
Thule Edge WingBar - Black Option
Vehicle: Toyota C-HR, 5 door SUV 2017 +
- Thule Edge Clamp 7205
- Thule WingBar Edge 95 (black) 7214B
- Thule Kit 145048
You have to cut the lugs off and smooth down & touch up paint the edge clamps but with some iteration of the bar width positions, and alternating the tightening from side to side to maintain the position of the feet until the recommended 3Nm torque on the bolts is achieved, the fit seems pretty good - have attached pictures
The bars are 70cm between centres and will (if undone) move to different positions forward or backwards (the width setting will need changing because the roof narrows front to back and this was fundamental to getting the rubber feet in the right position) - when I have time I will find out where the best position is as I can’t follow the thread above regarding the internal roof cross members.
It’s due to go down to the Alps with Skis in a few weeks so will update with durability/impact on bodywork of this solution ………
Hi Guys,I have the bars all set up now on the Yaris and I am now planning on a box. Which box have you on yours? How did you fit it? I am thinking of a Thule Vector Alpine, did you use the claws or did you use the direct adaptor kit? Thanks. AdamIt is noisy, but no problem. I have traveled at speeds of more than 160km/h and apart from the noise nothing else.
I have used the claws for all cars, its a easy flexible way of mounting the box on the barsHi Guys,I have the bars all set up now on the Yaris and I am now planning on a box. Still think the option to remove the wheels from the bike and put inside the car is the best option. The clip-on will make marks on the car and likely not work with the top of the trunk/wingsold the roof bars as main beams seem to be quite brittle in terms of any load.
Any experience on hatch mounted kits, do the work?
For example this
Hi Adam, I live in Zürich too. is there any chance that we could meet? I really want to see your buildHi Folks, here is my attempt to solve for the GR Yaris roof bar problem. I went right back to early comments by @Lanman. Thanks for all your great work buddy, excellent. So now I have here the 127cm Evo bars and the fitting kit for the Mazda CX5. I then cut the edges/flanges that hook the feet over the roof gutters, using a long bladed and bendy modelling knife, The knife helped me get a curve on the feet, and then I used some sandpaper to smooth off the rough edges. To cut the feet, I made sure the rubber was nice and warm and to do the sandpaper, the feet/blocks were cold…0 or -1. The box is the Thule Vactor Alpine. The Alpine is a little long and catches the rear spoiler when the trunk is opened and the box is as far forward as possible. For me, I needed the longer box as I am tall and have longer powder skis. Due to the length of the Vector Alpine it fouls the ‘standard’ rear spoiler, so you will see in the last shot, there is an adhesive door stopper on the rear of the box to stop damage to the spoiler. So… now we are off to Italy and France for a road trip and skiing over Christmas and New Year… Shot 1, mood shot for THule.. Shot 2, mood shot four GR Yaris folk, Shot 3 and 4. Feet without flange. Last shot the adhesive door stop!
No dents, 2000 miles, Thule roof box with 4 pairs of skismaybe the C-HR clamps fit better. have you checked your hood if you got any dents?
can't answer your question, but if you are passing Stockholm give me a shout and we can say hiHi, I too have the “Lanman” kit but am nervous about forcing the metal leg into the rubber just below the roof and risking damaging rubber... Can anyone say if it’s okay to simply push the leg into the rubber - or if I should cut some (rubber) away first? I’m heading to Sweden on Wed and so need to fit somehow fit rack so any advice appreciated! Thanks in advance.
