GR Yaris Toyota UK remap

Hi - had mine done at RRG Macclesfield a couple of weeks ago and went for heavy steering, throttle response and 45/55. Whilst it is expensive it’s definitely given me a bit of a new car “feel”. Car feels much more “up for it” and the extra punch is definitely noticeable, also seem smoother at lower revs as others have said. Maybe not so sure on heavier steering, would be nice to be able to switch. I’d say I probably prefer it when pushing on but a teeny bit worse when pottering

And I have no way of noticing the 45/55 don’t find it possible to drive fast enough in public roads

I'm thinking of getting this done. Can someone please confirm if the faster throttle response, more torque and heavier steering are all present in track, normal and sport modes or just track?
Also, how does the heavier steering feel? Is it a case of having less electrical power steering assistance or does it just feel artificially heavy?

Hi - yes, the throttle response / remap is present in all modes. Can't say I've really noticed the heavier steering, but haven't done a great deal of driving so far.

Anyone actually know anyone at Currie Motors Kingston that answers the phone? I've been forwarded through to someone a few times now, over various days and no one ever picks up the damn phone?

They are the closest dealer to me that offers it and every other GR specialist speaks to me like I've got two heads when I mention the remap.

I've got a service coming so I'd like to do them at the same time

Just had a call back from Currie. Apparently any Toyota dealer should be able to do it, but the are booked up until next year pretty much.

Service tech should be able to find the details in the service bulletins

Hi Guys.. Can someone please confirm if the bias remap is just for track mode?

I like the 30:70 split in Sport and don’t want that messed with.

Correct. Track can be set to either 55:45, 50:50 (no change) or 45:55.

Thanks for the information. I tried my dealer (Bristol South) but they can’t offer it. I have a call out to Bath Toyota… Anybody had this done in the south west and able to suggest a dealer?

In my experience nearly all the SW dealers are generally awful. Bit far for you but Plymouth I've heard is a little better, keep asking around. Or just go to whifbitz for a proper map

I'd like to ask if anyone who has gone for a remap is running a free flow CAT and OPF delete. As others have mentioned, this setup tends to trigger an ECU error, likely because the ECU detects higher boost or torque levels. I'm wondering if a remap that raises the torque limit also resolves this issue.

Following on from my 25 September post. Man maths won the day and I had the software upgrade done alongside my 42 000 mile service yesterday. I went for: accelerator quick, steering heavy and 45/55 FWD. I will report back after I have driven it for a while. Initial impression on the 40 minute drive home was all good.
