Toyota UK now offering tuning. This is the package that’s been in Japan 1-2 years, this will be available from 12 May for 3 months as a trial at 10 UK dealers.

Only taken them 2 years after the focus group response was positive about a remap with warranty.

Question is whether the dealers are up to the job.

I also know they’ve done a recent focus group with dealers where they raised tuning/parts.

It cant be that hard, tick some boxes on some software based on your requests and then hit upload. However there’s a reason I’m off to a specialist for my new service on the Gen2 and not a main dealer…..

Interesting approach :D Toyota sold them as GR Yaris WRC Triple Edition (300x) in Germany before launching the MK2. Ive ordered one in good faith but it was a rather mixed result since the whole process was a shitshow. Software itself is nice to have.

Good to hear it’s not just Toyota UK that cant organise anything. Are you still expecting a car or has it been delivered?

Delivey was quite fast compared to the years of waiting of others. Around 6 months (Order Dec23 - Delivery June 24).
And do you get to choose some of the characteristics like the power steering, drivetrain bias?

On the gen2 power steering strength is changeable on the head unit menu.

Yes you get +20nm over the normal GR Yaris.
And you can choose between:

1. Throttle pedal: High response / stock / conservative
2. Steering support: progressive / stock / conserative
3. Drivetrain bias: conserative 55 front/45 back / Stock 50/50 / progressive 45/55 (on the track mode, you still keep sport and normal)

Can you share this reason, please?
(I don't know how to do a quote)

I thought they did this routinely (the torque increase) a couple of years back - at least mine felt a lot more perky after one service.
Maybe they just changed the air filter.

And are these user changeable or only at the dealer?
