GR86 GR86 - What wheels and tyres are you thinking about?

4 Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersports fitted at Costco for under £300. Getting to the end of my PS4s now so either going to go for these or the Conti SportContact 7s (which come in at around £100 more for the set, but possibly worth it?).

For anyone looking for a picture of a GR86 with GT86 wheels.

Standard GT86 wheels (all 7” wide) refurbed in Rota satin bronze, with 215x45 R17 full winter Falken Eurowinter HS02 tyres. Not the greatest tyres out there, but should allow me to get to work in the event of snow. Bought the wheels with tyres for £380, with almost unused tyres. So far the ride feels better than the 18’s.

TPMS sensors haven’t synced as I left the original sensors in, the little light on the dash is there but a minor inconvenience! I’ll replace them when the tyres are due (already purchased as photo, didn’t arrive in time).

Where are those sensors from and what else is required to make them work?

They are from Aliexpress (so a gamble I know!) and a TPMS programmer is required, can be purchased from the same place or your tyre fitter may have one.

When they’re fitted I’ll advise further 👍

Does anyone know if 8J ET35 wheels and 225/40/18 tyres are suitable to clear a big brake kit (Godspeed Megane 3 Brembos)?
The OEM wheels clear the kit (and so do my Bola FLE 18x8” ET42 with 225/40), so I reckon the more ‘outward’ stance of an 8J at ET35 would do too, but that said wouldn’t the spoke formation also have an effect? Something with outward curving spokes rather than a wheel with a deeper rim?
The best people up our way to assist might probably be SKIDZ? They are always helpful and they might even have an old rim out back to try out…

Post which wheels you're looking at?

Unless they're really odd spoke design, it'll fit. I'm on 8j et45 (10mm further in) and there's plenty of clearance with that bbk.

Thanks, that’s reassuring.

If I’m doing it properly it’ll be Ultraleggera’s, if doing it cheaply it would be Autec Wizard.

What about the autec clubsport evo 9x17 light concave 7.9 kg!

Good find! About time some proper euro brand came up with some decent priced light weight wheels.

The website doesn't list a 5x100 9x17 option but a 7,5x17
I've had them in Hyper Silver 17x7.5 et35. Nice wheel, they are slightly convex though (lots of wheels are slightly concave) which I didn't notice on the photos when I bought. Definitely lightweight. Also hyper silver is VERY bright, slightly too much for me. Bit better when dirty 😂
Great wheels though, Autec are a good brand. The Wizards are lovely.
