So his conclusion is that MK2 cars have zero engine issues simply because, based on the limited releases so far, no one has reported any—yet. That’s laughable logic.

Good article but, other than reference to an intercooler, I'm surprised there's not more content relating to heat management, oil cooler, vents etcold thread but good discussion earlier so updating with good article from Whifbitz

Toyota GR Yaris Tuning Guide
The Gen 1 Toyota GR Yaris comes with 256bhp from the factory and you can give it an easy power boost with just a few mods. Now our dyno reads the power at thewww.garagewhifbitz.co.uk
Maybe it is how you use the car. On track or 30min autobahn blast its evident you benefit from improved cooling.Good article but, other than reference to an intercooler, I'm surprised there's not more content relating to heat management, oil cooler, vents etc
Yes. Tegiwa I think got 13-15bhp from it.Hm, are those claims about the eventuri intake backed ?
If yes, this intake + HJS downpipe already give you close to 290hp from the 261 stock ...
Not sure you can simply add them upp, but both relieve the work of the turbo by improving the compressor (intake) and turbine (cat) pressure ratios, hence reducing turbo work, opening the wastegate more and reducing backpressure, making more power without changing anything else (boost, fuel or timing).Hm, are those claims about the eventuri intake backed ?

I had mine revving to 7.5k with no issues. That's with Kelford valve springs, A cams, and Denstoj rocker retainers. There was power all the way through too with my other mods.Is there much in the way of educated opinion on the rev limit for a stock bottom end?
There are very few main dealers I would trust unequivocally these days.Unfortunately notthere was major scoring in one of the cylinders due to oil starvation so it's being rebuilt with a whole new forged bottom end.
Dealer denied any responsibility of course, as "you need to see it from our point of view, we can't prove nobody else has been under your car" so my word wasn't good enough despite using them for years before this. I'm still fumingthey tried to catch me out by asking when my fancy (Rotheli) oil pan was fitted, which was 6 months before the service in question and shows the attention to detail we're dealing with here from their "head technician".
I can only recommend avoiding Premier Toyota in Llandudno if you like having oil in your engine![]()
