GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Installed KW Clubsport V3 and Eibach 5mm spacer (to hopefull clear my Brembo GT kit which I'm planning to install this week) with extended studs

Spotted this auto at a Subaru garage in Interlaken, Switzerland. It looks like they are struggling to shift it. From a rough google translation it looks like a discount of 5000 Swiss Francs for it being a Dec 23 registration.

Picked up the GR86 after its overnight stay at the detailer, having had full prep, new PPF on the NSF wing and fresh Gtechniq Halo coatings. Shiney as a new pin again!
Also booked us in for a show in Cumbria (wheels int lakes).

Did you go for the AP discs or the in-house ones out of interest?
So tired I forget now, will check tomorrow. Btw, I weighted the kit and it is about 2.4kg heavier per side which was a suprise as I recall reading it was meant to be a tiny bit lighter. Old, came in at 5.9kg, new at 8.3kg

I actually did it the other day... I replaced my cabin air filter.

Mann do one that has better filtration and more importantly an activated carbon layer to filter out smells.
I've had a "kind of brakey" smell since my first track day, and this eliminated it. I even fitted an air freshener and I can't smell it anymore after having the cliamte control on recirculate!

It feels a lot more substantial and better build than thr flimsy factory paper one, highly reccomended.

Installed the Strut brace with brake stopper Friday. Did go for a spin Saturday and noticed an improvement but wouldn't know for certain until I got it on one of my regular fun roads. Went to Aberaeron to see friends then back via Llandovery and the Black Mountain road which has been ruined with average speed cams. The bit from Aberaeron to Llandovery I know well. Most of it were my old commuting roads. Turn in definitely feels more direct and with temps up I was really getting throttle on early after trail braking into most turns and it took it well. Always use my old vRS as comparison as I'd regularly give it death and while I won't risk the 86 like I did the vRS, for many spots the 86 is the same or quicker, especially on corner entry. It's so nice having a car you don't have to constantly manage issues and is so stable as NSL speeds.

I did notice when fuel was low, the rear feeling looser and more wayward was more pronounced with the bar. May look into a rear bar but whatever I get can't hinder a spare wheel. Also want to look into the SARD bars and those Yamaha bars too. But both are expensive. What next I'm not sure. Am intrigued by the diff kit to remove some of the movement. Wheels still on radar.
I noticed a real difference on handling after my strut brace install too 💯👌

Fitted the Pioneer door speakers, will fit the tweeters once the wiring adaptors show up. Interestingly the door speakers use the same connectors as my previous car (107, aka Aygo), fun coincidence.

PUZU on the list, the speakers are a little sharp, will play around with the onboard EQ and Spotify's version in the meantime. Some big AliExpress sale start tomorrow (@Sonic on your marks... ) so will see what discount is available on them.

Could not be arsed with removing the Cusco strut bar and Brake cylinder brace just to affix some rubber tubing, so I split the tubes and tie wrapped them to the OEM struts. They’re now “Toight as a Toygah” 🐯

Phoned the insurance to add Commuting back to my policy and up the milage, seeing as I'll be having to drive to an office again from Monday. Also enquired about adding an aftermarket air intake. Surprisingly, only declaring the milage as 10k (up from 4k) has cost me anymore...an extra 50 quid on the premium. Changing from SDP to SDPC was free.

Oh well. Will add the air filter if it ever arrives.

Got the GR valued against a new CH-R as it’s going in September… Wow 😞

Private sale it is then…

Have you tried Arnold Clark 'Sell my Car', WBAC or Motorway for a comparison? For mine, Autotrader said £27k (private), WBAC said £22k and Arnold Clark £25k. At least with them it's money in the bank straight away.
