GR86 Your cars name

What name have you assigned to your 4 wheeled significant other? And if you’re happy to share, what was behind this?

I know a lot of people name their cars. I’ve named all of mine and this time let my wife choose for my GR86. As it’s Sapphire Blue she went for Saphira (she’s an Eragon fan). I wasn’t immediately a fan, and done my face of false excitement (I’m an expert now), but I have to admit, I kind of like it.

Reading into the fictional character and talk of Blue Scales and bonding with its owner, I’m won over and Saphira is one of the family now 😊

Yukio... She's Japanese, badass, and the last 3 letters of my number plate are UKO.

Although having driven the car more, I'm not sure it's a she... maybe a she who's smoked 50 a day to have such a gravelly voice.

She is a rough girl for sure. I mean, some people pay good money for that.
 
Mine doesnt have a name, but I'm wiling to change that. Should I go with Baldrick or Edmund?
 
GYOGU. My cars are always named after the reg, I got to pick this one from a list so I chose one that sounded nice and Japanese.

I looked it up later and it is actually a Japanese word (漁具), meaning fishing tackle.
 
My GR Yaris is Buttercup, named after the Powerpuff Girl.

My Volvo C30 was Annika. My others have mostly been not especially creative, but also rarely called by name:

Avantime: Ava

BMW R80 RT: Rita
BMW K1100 RS: Kris
BMW R1200ST: Stella
Suzuki DR650: Dora

1987 Buick Somerset Regal: The Detroit Death Machine

I never named my smart Roadster Coupes or my Saturn coupes, though none were unloved.

That’s exactly what my wife wanted to call our Sapphire Blue 86 for the same reasons! :ROFLMAO:

We compromised and went for Wolfira as a combo of the that and the number plate that Toyota gave us (and that my old GT86 was Beasty to stay on that theme :))
 
Talia the Toyota.

Primarily because I was pushed by a work colleague to give her name.

And if you can give your car a hooker name to make your wife question the marriage, why wouldn't you!

(Especially when Talias Xmas presents cost as much as the wife's)

I like it - I trust you're going to wrap Talia's present and put it under the tree. Maybe don't put her name on it, so the family think it might be for them.
