GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Yep! Right side is RX7, top left is an SW20 MR2 and bottom is my little NA MX5! I think I have a problem with Japanese cars ๐Ÿ˜…
Its a great problem to have, love my Jap cars too, we are on our 7th MX5.
Never seen a Garage though with nothing in it but cars!

Thing is, we can't actually see the top of the lift - there could be another 12 storeys to it! What else have you got stacked up there? It must be like Tetris if the car you need is at the higher level ...

Senior Moment: I seem to remember the 70s BBC Series 'Butterflies' had scenes where they were always having to shuffle several cars about on a driveway just to get to the one they wanted?

I made an expensive mistake. Basically, I underestimated how close to the wall I was when parking in my garageโ€ฆ caught on rubber seal of the garage door. ยฃ200 later itโ€™s good as new (no paint damage, only residue removal and paint correction)View attachment 19568
I glanced at that top picture and thought you had some terrible arch extensions rivetted on... then I realised it was the reflection of a ladder ๐Ÿคช

Severe case of garage & lift envy
Thank you, people think I am joking when I say I bought the house for the garage.

The lift was actually not that bad. I think all in to have the lift, delivery and installation was about ยฃ2.2k but that was about 7 years ago now.

I just always find Jap cars easy to love, as a whole, they just feel way more characterful than they should do! This is my first and hopefully last MX5, I think whilst I have the space it will be here forever. Cost very little to run and keep going, and very easy to work on. Did a full year 0 service on it last year, all fluids, water pump, timing belt, seals etc, and I think it was less than ยฃ200. Im hoping the GR86 will bring much of the same feeling, but easier to live with as a daily driver.

I wish, that would be the dream! Unfortunately the next story up goes into my living room and whilst I would love to have a car on display up there im not sure itโ€™s super practical! I just borrow a slot in the old manโ€™s garage for the extras ๐Ÿ˜‚.

It can be annoying if the car you want is on the top, especially if you find out the battery for the bottom car died because you didnโ€™t disconnect it properly, then also forgot there was a metal beam above your head when you promptly stand up to get the charger. Itโ€™s at that point you decide ah f**k it, Iโ€™ll take the RX7, not fully realising that itโ€™s a rotary and hates you so only works at a time that suits it. But apart from that itโ€™s itโ€™s a slick and seamless experienceโ€ฆ.

Fantastic collection, got any pics of the MR2?
Just realised I donโ€™t have many photos of the MR2 by itself.

Itโ€™s a rev5 T-bar โ€œSonic Shadowโ€ edition (which I think is just the colour?).

Very nice, also liked that colour combo. Looks like you have had your Rev4 wheels painted. I have a set of Rev4 wheels on mine and even after 27 years seem to have avoided any 'white worm' so far ;)

yeah looks like I got that wrong ๐Ÿ˜…. Not sure why I though 97 was the first year of Rev5 but itโ€™s from 98
Lots of people did convert them back for the classic look, the combat spoiler and thin wheels were a big change to the whole package

Today I drove my car past the webcam in Fort William.

Weather looks far better than when I was there for the DH World Cup round last year!

I really must drive up that way again as some stunning views and roads were spoiled by not only the uninspiring 3 series Diesel I was in but more so the poor weather and visibility on both the outward and return journey.
