GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Took delivery of some self-adhesive felt sheets and covered the plastic restraint caps on the rear shelf to make them less reflective. One A4 sheet did both. The remaining 9 sheets will, I suppose, go into the box of shame until I find another use for them…

Went for an spirited early morning drive around Oxfordshire b roads . I genuinely cannot see myself driving a a faster car in b roads. I know a GR Yaris will be faster, same with a cayster variant but I don't think I would get the same pleasure.
The relative narrowness compared to other modern cars helps so much here. The ability to choose your line within a lane, or on the narrower road, thread past oncoming traffic without the need for a passing place makes the experience so much more enjoyable.

Spent 8 hours cleaning (near microscopically) and coating the car, wheels to be done another day 🤣

Due its 2nd year service on Thursday at a tad under 7k miles. After that, I’m a bit on the edge of selling due to lack of use, police eyes on Dorsets roads, 28 mpg average, silly insurance costs and needing something that is a more comfortable unit for commutes to the French / Italian boarders.

Dorset police when targeting rural runways now have speed detection drones that fly above you and can monitor your illegality 🙁

60+ were caught a few weekends back on the coastal road Weymouth - Abbotsbury - Bridport.

I was off to Loch Lomond afterwards and they kindly recommended taking the old Haul Road just past Faslane. What a drive! 15 degree declines with misty mountains staring back at you. I'll be back later in the summer when (if?) the weather is better for sure.
I would highly recommend the taking the left/straight instead of going Haul Road toward Arrochar. Normally a quiet road and feels like what this car was built for.

Sold mine  via carwow so just need to sort a collection day.
On the upside its getting closer to the Yaris arriving :)
Update to this, my car was collected this morning and promt payment before the driver left. I'd say a great hassle free sale.
Now hurry up with the Yaris !!!!

Continued my SCITP detailing programme. Monday was cabin prep, yesterday was engine bay and today I removed and cleaned each of the wheels, followed by a bit of packing for the trip. Friday will be the big ‘wash & shine’ day before Saturday’s 4hr drive to Ripon … That reminds me, I must stock up on Aldi ‘Iron Brew’ (sic) Jelly Babies 🍬!!!

Had the car in for an oil change at Toyota Helensburgh this morning. £70 for the labour supplying my own filter, sump washer and Millers 0W20. Would thoroughly recommend as you're getting an official Toyota dealer but independently owned! I was off to Loch Lomond afterwards and they kindly recommended taking the old Haul Road just past Faslane. What a drive! 15 degree declines with misty mountains staring back at you. I'll be back later in the summer when (if?) the weather is better for sure.
Cheers, I will try a run through there when next there on me motorbike.

Lloyds do spending insights and in the last year I've spend about 2.2k on fuel across 3 vehicles. I'm slacking as years before it would be twice this even before costs went up. 86 still barely on 15k but that changes next week as we'll be off to Anglesey and C-TEC

Went to a Japanese meet at The Stag last night, my wife took her Swift Sport for the perfect ketchup & mustard combo, and my parents decided to join in an MX5. Great weather, great food, good turnout 👌 There were a couple Yariseseses.(Black one is a weapon and the pub owners) not sure if there was anyone from here.

Still haven't been there. It's pretty much at the end of one of my favourite roads, but as I usually drive it at half 6 on a Sunday morning, I'm far too early to pop in for breakfast :D

There's a GR Yaris just around the corner from my house and I've seen pictures of it on their Instagram too.
